Pretty sure it Wasn't an ad guys. Jesus what cynicism.

Was it the big NBA2K logo at the end that convinced you?

Why does that bother you?

He can't really post any pictures or videos of him actually playing in Boston....

There are 100 ways he could have announced his excitement. Doing it through an advertisement doesn't really impress me that much.

And what do you mean he can't post any pictures? I've already seen Jae Crowder in Cavaliers gear.

An ad from one of his sponsors. Cool.

LOL.  Showing your age on this one.  2K is a cultural thing and often is a cool way to preview the season for basketball fans.  I have been playing with the new Celtics roster and you can even get it, fan made, in the old game through a download.

Look at most player's twitter accounts and you can see them retweeting their 2K model and rating in the game in the last week or so.  It's an event for people who care and a hobby they actually are passionate about and put a lot of time into.  It's a way they connect with friends.

Generally, I take people more sincerely when they're not paid sponsors. This first message has all the integrity of a post-race NASCAR speech.

"Cultural" or not, it's an advertisement intended to sell product. 2K Games put that together for him, again to sell video games.

Be excited for the game, sure. I'm just not particularly touched that his first official action as a Celtic is a promotion.

at the end of the day, they players are all promoters trying to get us to watch the game, buy tickets to go to the game, buy the shoes, etc.

I think this is cool. Yeah its a promotion for 2k but it shows that we have a big time star on our hands, at least in terms of media size.

This is the kind of thing IT wishes for and I hope he eventually gets. Boston is going to get more attention this year and that's a good thing. As unjust as it is we will have a better chance of things 'swinging' our way now that we have a legitimate star on our team.

Kyrie's second message to Boston fans; "guys, the earth is flat"
So far, this is really the only thing I don't like about Kyrie.  Guess nobody's perfect.   ;D  ;D

But... can't wait to hear about the Jaylen Brown - Kyrie Irving Earth debates.   I am guessing Jaylen is not going let the flat Earth thing go without introducing some good logic and science.
How long must this continue??

He. Was. Joking! He just wanted to be a troll, which I find endearing in itself.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I don't really care how popular he is.  I'd rather have him be hungry and not content that he's such a celebrity.

Tell me about it lol.

Cynicism... There's plenty of that on Celticsblog.

Or they put it together for him and for doing it, put their logo at the end.
Jesus.
You've been upset with the trade from the get go so perhaps think about your perspective a bit here?
Get excited, we've got an amazing player who's 25 years old and nothing's changing that.
Think about what Stevens is going to do with this guy.
