I am gonna make it simple and not putting the "They both win" or "We need to wait and see" option :), so show your opinion

By the way i can't stop laughing now lol ;D

In my opinion it's the robbery of the centry just next to the BRK trade

I'll show you proof who won the trade. People though the Thunder did as well as you could here.

After failing to agree on a contract extension with the Thunder, Harden was traded to the Houston Rockets, along with Daequan Cook, Cole Aldrich, and Lazar Hayward, for Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb, two first round picks, and a second round pick.

My immediate (and heart over head) reaction was that the Cavs had fleeced us.

Now that we know IT's condition is pretty bad (in the short-term), I'd have it about even, but I'm letting my optimism in regard to Kyrie's potential grow, so I'm voting us.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)

C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Boston. KI is a proven all star. IT is injured, Crowder is good but a role player and there are doubts over Zizics ability in the NBA. The Nets pick is valuable to a point and may change the concept of who won down the track. That is the thing though, we won't really know for a season or so. Celtics will prove to be short term winners as they are a lot closer to the Cavs now than they would have been with an injured IT. Long term may end up a draw. The second round pick is unlikely to affect the idea of who won.

IT's health and contract status makes it close to an even trade. Depends on where the BRK pick falls.

I supported the trade from day 1 and while I think in a vacuum it was an over pay, if you view it through the lens of all of the other moves Danny has made, overpaying here to lock up a young, healthy, motivated core makes all the sense in the world.

The most recent deal that had this much talent going out for one player was probably the Melo deal but what separates us from New York is that we didn't clean out our coffers. Teams like New York, Cleveland, and the Clippers maxed out and were so cash strapped they were stuck making minor moves while other franchises like GS and San Antonio reloaded every summer.

We now have a young, exciting team that we're not even locked in to. We could either turn into a juggernaut or top out but one thing we are not is stuck.

What separates our front office is that they embrace the new models of NBA competition but have the history and the clout to know how to operate in negotiations. When the 24/7 news cycle is calling us swindlers and suggesting we throw in one of our 2 best assets, Danny stands his ground and parts with a 2020 second round pick, a message to the league that we will not be intimidated.

Cheers Danny!

I vote Celtics. .here's why..
Thomas has bad hip and a FA
Crowder is a subpar player
Zizic is a project who may or may not make it
2nd round pick be another project who never make it
Nets pick may or may not be a good player..

Irving is a top 15 player who probably be here awhile and is one of top PG
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

We won't know until a year or even a few more who "won" this. But because I'm not 100% sold that I.T will be healthy this year or stay healthy in the long run Im going to say that Boston has a better chance of winning this.

I'm not sad to see Crowder go. He's made it clear what he thinks of or fans wanting Hayward.

I don't care about Zizic.

I really don't care about a 2nd round pick.

And I'm now skeptical when I hear that "the next draft is loaded" talk. I hear that often and most of the time I'm not all that impressed with what comes out. This site was going nuts over Wiggins and Parker a few years back. And they're ok players but nothing like the hype machine around here makes them out to be.
Peace through Tyranny

For years now anytime there is a thread about a trade I'm always about its a one year rental don't do it unless the player is definately resigning.
Cleveland just traded for a one year rental, an injured one.  My guess is Isiah will move out of the Cleveland mess (along with lebron) for the best contract he can get.  Kudos to him, he's a great guy, player and deserves it.
Rest of trade; 2nd rounder we all know how those play out, 1 rounder is anywhere from a star tied up on rookie contract and a building block to a good rotation player to a bust.
Crowder, great contract for a solid rotation player.  Maybe he will get starters minutes in Cleveland backing up lebron and love but he'll be coming off bench most likely.  Zizic possible player down the road, still developing, will he be rotation player of limited unknown.

Great way to put it for the next couple years at least.  It's a little annoying how everyone is now harping on Isaiah's hip injury now.  Every player has injuries and Irving has had more than his share.  Some of the same people who have said they would like to trade for a guy like Jabari Parker are probably some of the same ones who claim that we had to move on from Isaiah due to his hip.

I understand the age difference is to the Celtics benefit and they may not have wanted to bring out the brinks truck, but we gave up an awful lot.  I guess I will try to be content from the Celtics side of things, but it was an absolutely amazing deal for Cleveland.

So do you feel Kyrie has hit his ceiling?

Cavs = not convinced in Kyrie. Too flawed a star and has not improved much over last few years. That Brooklyn pick is too valuable. Gives CLE a strong chance at another all-star caliber talent alongside Isaiah Thomas. Plus a good starter in Crowder. A decent big man prospect in Zizic. Yeez ... ugh ...

In the important areas, yes.

At this moment, both teams get what they want.

The C's get a 25 year old top 15-20 player who has a chip on his shoulder. Irving can grow with Tatum/Brown and be here for 7 years possibly.

Cavs get luxury tax relief, some solid bench depth in Crowder/Zizic, IT to help fill Irving's void for one year (when he gets back on the court), and an unprotected Brooklyn pick which can help jump start a rebuild once LeBron leaves next summer.

Long term, it will depend on how the scenarios play out. Trade might look bad for Boston if Irving doesn't stay in Boston long term. For Cleveland, this might blow up in their face if IT misses the majority of the year and the Brooklyn falls outside the top 5 in a 5 player draft.
