Gordon Hayward is an excellent two way player. I was just rewatching that series against the clippers and he is easily the best player in that series. He can do everything and he's so smooth he makes it look easy. His shot is beautiful. His passing is top notch. He's also a very good defender. I could find a Hayward thread on the forum I looked through 10 pages, I know it's there somewhere but there should be lots more threads about this kid. He is amazing. He took that team out in Utah past The Clippers and only lost to the champs. He's a playoff performer and I think he'll be in the rafters one day!

One of the most underrated players in the league. Mostly because he played for a small market. Should be real fun to see him and kyrie mesh

Well said. And guess what, the guy averaged 26/7/5 in the playoffs!

I know it says 24/6/4, BUT don't forget, one game that counted in those stats was the game he only played 9 minutes and scored 3 points and left because of food poisoning. Take that game out and in 10 postseason games he averaged around 26/7/5.

Was also HUGE in that Clippers series and Game 7, but also did really well in the Warriors series too (easily the best player on the court for Utah).

And if you want a Hayward thread that discussed everything, want me to bump up the "Hayward Watch" Thread that had 130+ pages LOL?

Also underrated because of the extremely slow pace Utah played at. They took so many shots at the end of the shot clock.

And, yeah, there is a lot to be excited about regarding Hayward. With so much Kyrie drama, he is almost the forgotten man!

Good points. Hayward had a great playoffs on team where the second best player averaged 14 points a game. Hayward is the perfect player for BS offense. This year is going to be more fun than last year!

I'm more excited about the Hayward addition than the Irving addition, not even considering the cost of getting each player.

I feel this is a bit of an exaggeration tbh.

I like Hayward and he's a very good player, but I wouldn't consider him a great player.  Among NBA SF's I don't think I'd rank him top 5.

I also feel his defence is being overrated here.  I think he's improved as a defender compared to earlier years (he used to be pretty poor) but I still wouldn't rate him any more then average, maybe slightly above average at best.

That said, I'd be very happy for him to prove me wrong :)

I'd rate them:

1.Kawhi Leonard
2. Kevin Durant
3. LeBron James
4. Giannis Antetokounmpo
5. Paul George
6. Gordon Hayward

IMO 5 and 6 are interchangeable.

I think maybe 4, 5 and 6 are interchangeable but The Freak has such incredible upside it pushes him up.

That's fair but those are the top 6. If you put Hayward over George then Hayward is top 5. Gordon Hayward is in the top five conversation that's all I'm saying. He got his teams farther than or as far as any of those guys not named LeBron or Kawhi...
