Ray is right. He was responding to Caron Butler's post. He's mad about fans trashing players for leaving, but cheering when players are sent out of town against their will.

Danny did what he thought was best, trading IT and AB.  It's not loyalty, it's business. Ray did what he thought was best, too.

Did anyone cheer when IT was traded? I saw quite the opposite.

Ray seems to have beef with fans who don't control money or personnel decisions. "Where were y'all when the team tried to trade me?" What were the fans supposed to do? Storm the castle? He can't have it both ways - he can't get into petty spats on Instagram with fans and they claim "it's a business." Either you're above it or you're not.

Yes, about half this blog seems psyched that IT was traded.

Danny doesn't have 1 loyal bone in his body...Kinda sucks, I was p---ed about the Perk trade, cause it KILLED our chemistry....If IT did not injure his hip, he would probably still be here.

Danny is loyal to his mission: Make the Celtics great again (sorry...).  I like that mission for Danny and wouldn't want loyalty to a player to get in the way of his mission.

Ray's mission: Win myself another ring.   He has every right to strive to fulfill that mission, but when he joins a superteam who just defeated your own team in the ECF and he takes half the pay to bolt toward his own mission... well, I have a hard time blaming people for holding a grudge.

I guess Ray has a right to speak his mind about stuff like this...but I wouldn't be upset if he just decided to take the high road and move on.

ray thinks we would all just get over what he did. He's found out it didn't happen the delusional way he thought it would

Who cares what Ray "Benedict" Allen has to say.

Yep, this is where I'm at. Ray talking about loyalty is like Trump talking about eloquence.

And thus, people cheered when IT was traded. No hand-wringing about "loyalty", just a cold calculated move that treated IT like a commodity.

That's a fair way to look at players. Just don't get upset when they look out for themselves. For instance, why would any player ever play through an injury here? Why would any player take less money?

Kyrie is willing to take less, hence waiving the trade kicker.

Ray still hasn't figured out that sports fans are not rational when it comes to barracking for their team. Fans develop an emotional attachment to teams that overrides reason. Moves that help the team = good. Moves that don't help the team = bad. Players who were helpful to the team who leave = traitors. Players who suck and are traded = it's a business and why did it take so long to get rid of them. You'd think he would know this after more than a decade playing.

Ray Allen is right.

Still hate what he did, but he is right.

Yeah, God forbid Ainge upgrades the team with a trade.

You & old man Ray will ALWAYS be wrong with that argument. ALWAYS. I'd expect it from you but Ray has played in the league & should be smarter.

Probably just but hurt because Ainge would've traded him as well if he could've nabbed some more Brooklyn type assets before Ray bolted.

We have a darn smart GM & that's really all there is to it. Thank heavens our GM is not named Ray Allen.

I was as mad as anyone else when Ray left us, but I've long gotten over it.  I'm very thankful for #17.

Take your own advice Ray.  "Ya'll need to get over it" he tweeted a while back towards C's fans and then deleted it.  Many of us already have, but it's very clear that Ray has not.

Maybe he's also bitter because Hayward will be wearing #20 and it's very clear that his number won't be honored in the rafters amongst the other Celtics legends (rightfully so).
