Honestly I want the Cavs to void the trade. We'll either get Kyrie for cheap or get a motivated IT back. Cleveland gets screwed either way when the trade is voided. PLEASE DO IT CLEVELAND

Is it possible that the Cleveland doctors did assess the injury as worse than expected (i.e., likely to be out or diminished  capacity all year) and that one of the scenarios being discussed is swapping Zizic for Rozier, who would at least be viewed as an asset for 17-18?

It seems to me that this "uncertainty" is bs. Even if IT was completely healthy, I don't think CLE would accept just IT, JC, AZ for KI.

I highly doubt IT plays another minute on the Celtics. If the trade is void that BKN pick comes back and we can either save it for another trade at the deadline or use it for a top prospect on draft night. Given IT's injury plus the fact he was traded away to Cleveland I doubt IT, and Jae for that matter, sees the court in a Celtic uniform again.

But I could be wrong.

The Cavs are smokin crack ... cavs want a man back everybit as good scorer AND a Lottery Pick for someone who is leaving them anyway ?  They won't get EITHER from another team with their backs against the wall. to unload Irving ...especially to a place he would be satisfied with. 

The media and fans just don't understand the injury enough .

The trade is all,about the Lottery Pick for Irving ......we could afford to sweeten the deal with Crowder and Zizic .  Getting rid of IT was a bonus for the Celtics IMO ,  killed two birds with one stone , gonna have to trade him anyway. .

I would stand fast on th deal.   All they can do is take a lesser offer.

The Cavs are playing it smart.  The trade is significantly less valuable if their prognosis is IT needs surgery and will likely miss the season.  No reason for them not to use all the available time to do a thorough assessment of IT's health.  During that time, Ainge might sweeten the deal a bit or another team might sweeten their offer.  If IT's value for the Cavs essentially goes to zero, our offer is still good but it could be beaten.

I thought it was a fair deal--because IT was only a rental. Irving has an extra contract year and is cheap at $20M per. Crowder was highly expendable, and Zizic is a project.

The Nets pick may have had some concern for the hip built into it , but the Cavs could do Ainge a favor if it would take one of those lesser picks off his hands he'll probably never use anyways.

No sense in Ainge taking a hard line here. The Suns had a nice offer out there, too.

Boston is not inclined to add anything else to the trade completed this week centered around Kyrie Irving, one source told The Athletic Saturday night. The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity given the sensitive nature of the talks, insisted the Celtics were upfront with the Cavs on everything and that nothing on the physical should've surprised anyone. Thomas flew into Cleveland on Friday for his physical. Although Thomas bruised his hip in March, one source said Thomas has always dealt with structural issues to the hip and it has never been an issue. While no one reached by The Athletic on Saturday was willing to put a timeline on when Thomas might return to action, the Celtics don't sound like a franchise willing to increase their offer. One source indicated Saturday the Celtics' final offer of Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and Brooklyn's unprotected first-round pick was their best offer. There will be no more negotiating.
