I'm a bit confused... how can you trade for a known injured player and then void the trade due to said injury... Thomas' hip was not hidden from Cavs when decision was made.

TP.

This is the weird part for me as well.

They should have known coming in that Thomas is still dealing with a hip injury, yet they agreed to the deal anyway. Unless Ainge mislead them on IT4's medical reports, why are they all of a sudden going for a void for said injury?

Ainge had more leverage before and has more now. Seriously. IT had a hip injury and didn't need surgery. He is rehabbing. The Cavs knew this. The end. If they don't like it they can have back Kyrie and we get back IT, a top pick, Crowder, and Zizic.

100% of what they sent us they don't want and can't use. We can easily make good use of a lot of what we sent them.

Go ahead Cavs. Your move. I'll walk away
exactly, they're trying to play chess to get more out of ainge

Yep. TP.

Don't give them any of Brown, Tatum or Lakers pick in addition to all that.

Irving has a physical scheduled tomorrow with Celtics

Lol and then you find out he has some undisclosed injury. Chaos!

They better pass their physicals. IT4 wouldn't be very happy playing for the Celtics again or even at 110% after this fiasco.

The sweetener for taking Thomas is the fact the 2018 nets pick is unprotected.

Having a moody Thomas that might miss a lot of games and crowder back is not a good thing.

On NBA.com celtic official site"no player may suit up for his new team in a game or practice, until all players report to their new teams and pass a physical exam. (Sometimes the teams agree to waive the physical exam requirement.)

While I don't think Danny has more leverage now, That's my sentiments based on the graduate level diplomacy courses I took. A voided trade would be what is called mutually assured destruction, I.E. both parties lose. So let them either accept or void the trade, but if they call trying to squeeze for more, pull the phone out of the wall and make them be the ones to decide to screw themselves.

Then pray like hell they accept the trade. Jesus what a mess this is.

I don't want Thomas back.

Sure. We can waive him if it's necessary.

But we do get Jae and Zizic back, who we can then trade somewhere else and get value.

And we get the Nets pick back.

Why would we have to pay more when we could just stand pat and get our assets back?

If Thomas is returned to Boston who starts at guard for most the season while he is hurt?

What does this mean for ITs next contact? Something tells me no more brinks truck. Who will invest in damaged goods?

he's never putting on a Celtics jersey again.  not after this.

what will happen if this deal gets voided is, Ainge will have to trade him somewhere else for way less value.
