that's my sentiment at the moment, is that Ainge feels like the Nets has improved so they probably hold less value than the Lakers pick...just a hunch

Hey, the good news is we'll probably see either IT or the Celts in the Finals next year.

Yeah, I'll always root for IT.

Cleveland is a better team than they were yesterday, and this may keep Lebron in Cleveland.

I mean, that BRK pick can be combined with their junk contracts to being back another superstar, if that's the root they go. They could end the season with four legit stars.

I don't think so. This trade was a best of both worlds scenario for them. They're not going to trade that Brooklyn pick with both Lebron and IT as flight risks next year.

He sent IT to a team with the best player in the world, and to a team that has just a good of chance of making the finals as us, if not better. That's not doing him dirty.

Couple of things...

Danny must feel Kyrie is a significant talent long term than IT. He probably is.

Danny didn't want to pay an aging IT. Perhaps Danny feels IT can't be the type of player he was last year

Cleveland must know Lebron is gone after this year. So they teade for an expiring IT knowing they have one more shot to beat GSW before blowing it up after this year.

yes IT4, Crowder, Zizic looks like a fair deal for Kyrie on paper

BUT what if IT4 walks after next season

then its Kyrie vs Crowder/Zizic.....  That is a ridiculously lopsided win for the Celts

So Cavs are asking the Celts for an insurance ...which was either Tatum or one of the lotto picks

Danny and staff thought the Nets pick will end up being the worst  out of the three

IT is going to get his max deal, AND he will play with Lebron and have a shot at going to the Finals. There are many scenarios that could have been much , much worse for him than that.

Cleveland seems happy with result of trade (they get it was one response)but they would have preferred him in the west. This from people I work with(Cleveland based corp) . Crazy, I started new job in May with OH based company, ,saw Celtics win only game in front row in Cleveland, and now this huge trade. This is gonna be a wild season.

Kyrie is a proven PREMIERE shot maker and scorer. He's the guy who made all the big shots down the stretch for the Cavs , pulled Lebron's ass out of trouble several times. He's younger, cheaper, healthier, and longer/better defensively than IT.

Plus, he can age better with Hayward, Jaylen, Smart, and Tatum. That's quite an impressive collection of talent going forward.
