...I agree that Brad isn't afraid to coach guys with questionable locker room histories, but I agree that Brad and Danny should take attitude into consideration when evaluating players and I don't have a problem with them making those decisions on a case by case basis.

...
Case-by-case is the key.  The word "attitude" can have so many meanings.  DeMarcus Cousins was EXACTLY what this team needed, and he was available for a relatively low price, yet, no dice.

Absolutely and while I was a proponent in of trading for Demarcus, I don't have a problem with them determining he was too much of a locker room cancer.

Except Brad isn't the GM. It doesn't matter what he wants/thinks because in the end Danny is looking at trades and making them.
You seriously believe that?

Ainge consults Stevens on moves. He just doesn't make trades and then let's Stevens know "Hey Brad. Just traded XYZ player. Good luck."

Understandable, remember when we used to point and laugh at D'antoni when he was with New York ?
Guy just won coach of the year with a team with no knuckleheads.
And Golden State won the NBA title with Draymond Green... oh well.

Dumbest post of this offseason. And that's no mean feat.
Draymond Green is the complete antithesis of a knucklehead in the NBA.

Your fierce intent when it comes to being a contrarian means that for some reason you're dissing Brad Stevens for picking and choosing his players. Something that every coach does.

Mindless.

I would hope the coaching staff could work with a talented problem child.  Part of a coach's job is to get guys to buy in.
It's not always as simple as getting someone to buy in.  Brad Stevens isn't allowed to prescribe psych meds.

Sorry. I misspoke. We should absolutely only sign guys that are squeaky clean, because our coach is incapable of working with anyone else. Perhaps they hurt his feelings.

Happy now?

No, it's not. But Doc generally did it, and by most accounts around here, he wasn't even a good coach.

A lot of people on here seem to "know" these players.    The Bradley for Morris trade had many layers to it.   Brad and Danny are looking ahead.  For me this is a non issue.   People tend to like to worry about things that "could" happen.

That's like worrying about  or paying intrest on a loan you have not even gotten yet. A waste of time.      I'm going to assume Danny, Brad are not concerned not he court case and his attitude.    And the fact that Crowder made this statement leads me to believe Morris will be a positive addition to the team.

Go Celtics.

It can be contended that in a team game with the whole world as talent pool, it just isn't necessary to put up with individual's crap to assemble a winner. And I get it from a business and organizational reputation view as well, where individual crap tarnishes the brand or distracts from other media efforts. Or just makes the place look like a dumpster fire.

I agree. I never enjoyed working or playing with jerks.

Just to point out there is a difference between "great attitude" and "model citizen" or "good person."  In real life MJ and Magic and Larry were all arguably Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.s. But in the locker room...and in a game and in a practice.  Excellent attitudes and they will largely be remembered that way

Literally no-one on here is saying that, nor is Brad Stevens. You implying that is a view shared by Stevens or by the posters on here is simply moving the goalposts to save face.

The player that is being quoted in this thread is a prime example of a pretty abrasive personality at times but will give everything for his teammates. Marcus Smart is another. I would not describe either of those guys as 'short back and sides, squeaky clean, non abrasive personalities.'

I suspect post the signing of Gordon Hayward, you are painting that sort of picture of the Celtics to push your usual negative contrarian schtick further than usual.

You are just grasping at straws at this point. Look, we know you hate Stevens, but come on. Draymond is a great lockerroom guy, going overboard to defend his teammates to the point he  makes lots of enemies. He is a Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. to opponents but not his team. Like KG was.

Koz, why would anyone here be happy that you are intent upon proving him correct about you? Honestly, your posts on CBS are not among your best.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

You cant compare NFL coaches to NBA Coaches.. Money is not guaranteed in the NFL.   Bill has cut great players after a year because they didn't buy into the system. You cant do that in the NBA.
IF you sign Cousins there is no Cutting him if he doesn't buy in..

So when he doesn't want to work as hard as the rest of the guys on the team in practice its okay.. He is Cousins, the players will understand.. And if he doesn't want to get back on Defense, The coach should simply Call a time out and yell at the rest of the team to get back faster (because hey, he is Cousins) and when he wants to show toughness by losing his cool and throwing players on the floor - ahh its okay - because we dont have anybody on the team who enforces in that way.. and when he is leading the league in T's dont worry about that,  That guy in GS (who as 2 rings) is doing the same thing so its okay..

The guy has shown us every reason why MENTALLY he doesn't fit on our team and yet We rather blame (drum roll) Our coaching Staff for not bringing the guy in and taking a 100 million dollar chance on him..

Brad needs thicker skin.  You can't always get what you want
