He will do fine as a 3rd string guard. Strong defensive talent. Very limited offensively. Will do fine next to better players.

I like K.Allen better than Demetrious Jackson for this team because I think a defensive combo guard is more valuable roster wise than another ball-handler -- 3 of them already in Isaiah, Rozier, Smart so no need for a 3rd string PG.

We can keep both.  On a two-way deal, Allen could be on the Celtics roster for at least 45 days -- barring catastrophic injury, we aren't going to need a third guard of his ilk more than that amount of time.  Jackson can continue to develop as a PG in the meantime.  With both IT and Smart hitting free agency, continuing to develop Jackson this year could pay dividends next year.

If we have to rely on Jackson or Allen for significant minutes - ever - the guard position is in deep trouble.

You can only have 2 players on two-way deals, though, so there's a choice to be made there.

I think Bird is not going to stick.  He doesn't seem to contribute an NBA skill like Allen does with his ball-hawking.  I think Allen and Nader will get the two-way contracts for this year.  I hope Allen can stick around and develop enough to play in the future.

Bird may be better although I don't think he fills the need that Allen does

Do you still think this after the last two summer league games, from what I seen Bird plays D, shoots and hustles.

He has outperformed Allen every game, so what are you basing this on ?   A hunch ?   I think Bird will get a 2 way contract at the least.

Right, two of Allen, Nader, and Bird.  Assuming Nader gets a 2-way deal, I think one of Allen and Bird do, and the other is signed to a Maine only contract like Nader last year.  But again, barring Jackson getting completely beaten out in training camp, I expect to see him on the roster come opening night.

Among Allen, Nader, Bird and Jackson, I think Allen is odd man out.  They could offer him a Maine contract like Nader this past year, but most guys don't take that bag of peanuts and go overseas.

Bird gets to run with the first unit and Allen leads the second unit.  Allen gets the short end of the stick and has more responsibility running the second unit.  Bird has received more minutes because he runs with the first unit and he may be slightly better but ask Ben Bentil the same thing and it changes everything.  Allen appears to fit better with the team's strategy.

Fairly confident that Allen, Bird, and Nader will have 10+ year NBA careers.  And no, in my old age I would not be surprised to see one of the three inducted in the HOF, either.

Honestly, I don't :-\, and from players taken in his range and after over the last two drafts I'd rather have Gary Payton II and Xavier Rathan-Mayes, for starters, but I'm weird, so there's that.
