Two nationally televised Lakers games; Two "mandatory" Lavar interviews.  Why?

Is this ESPN trying to create "drama" where there is none?...

And for God sake, we don't have to split the TV screen between the game and Lavar's interview.    He really isn't that important.

Sadly - I think this is what we are going to get every time we have a nationally televised Lakers game, a "mandatory" dose of Lavar.   :-\

TP......lavar makes NBA into a Professional wrestling type event with his big mouth and all.   I won't watch Lakers at all now .  I want to,see see alonzo play .  But, I can take them showing Lavar every other play .......

we see Lavar MORE than the Laker coaches ... ::)......the whole love affair with media jsut show how far away from the actual sport and all this side show mess has become.

National media loves this Enquirer , National Star,  Honey boo boo bear , type garbage ,  its hard to tune out all this low IQ constant promoting of dumbing down of America .

At least its all on the other side of the country , and thank god DA did not take Lonzo   nothing against the kid .....but having his putrid old man face on the TV every other play when the Lakers are on.

I think he's fun. Also, he made a great point last night: this is supposed to be entertainment. Why do people get serious about this stuff? We have a million other things to take too seriously in this world- why drag basketball into it?

I certainly don't think Lavar is the worst father in the NBA. The fact that he is so active in his son's life shows me that he is committed to Lonzo and his family. Certainly not a bad quality, in my eyes.

Annoying? Maybe
Bad dude? Nah
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

I am not faulting Lavar he seems to be a good father by all accounts.

It is ESPN giving him the spotlight.  Once is fine, two oh well, three times.....that's annoying.

Comment Of The Day thus far. Well done.

Danny almost certainly scouted her, too.

Best GM in sports.

I've been blissfully ignorant of this guy's actual interviews though I've heard about them second-hand. Sounds like he gets ratings, and ratings don't care if you love or hate the person. As long as people keep responding he'll keep getting airtime.

media's fault.  ESPN's fault.  Shamefully trying for ratings at expense of young player.  Lavar bears responsibility too, but the ESPN is a crap network through and through.  No values...just a bunch of crass sarcastic not funny wanna be comedians.

in the US, buffoonery sells.

also, responding to the multiplying sexist comments about tatum's mother, it does ring of hypocricy to take the high road of lambasting lavar for being a vulgar and obnoxious shill and then post remarks that demean the mother of a player.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Did you catch Magic's last sentence in his interview when asked about Lavar?  He said, "Lavar is just promoting himself and his brand.  But Lonzo is a professional now, so Lavar will need to back up."

I can't stand him. He puts undo pressure on his sons, sucks all the air out of the room, and makes idiotic statements like Lonzo will be the greatest PG of all time.

He thrives by the old, "the squeaky wheel gets the oil" adage.

ESPN usually destroys any person with even a whiff of racism attached to them.

Lavar Ball makes blatantly racist statements and ESPN treats him like a rock star.

Worse, during Magic interview they split the screen between Magic and Lavar (rooting for his son). They did this twice...while the game was being played (opting for no view of the actual game)!    Disgusting.  This is all about a Lakers team that's been tanking for 4 years.

I Hate the Lakers. Hate them.
