With Saric instead of Bradley Boston doesn't make the ECF. In fact very good chance Boston isn't the 1 seed and may have ended up with a 1st round matchup that might have beaten the team (like Milwaukee). That happens Boston probably doesn't land Hayward and Bradley would have been traded for nothing.
Ainge should have traded Bradley at the draft. That is when he had leverage still.
That said Boston was going to lose Bradley next summer anyway and Morris is a decent enough player
I agree. It was somewhat of a catch 22 situation. Value wise it was probably better to trade him during the season, but neither Smart or Brown were ready to take over starting SG duties as we were making a playoff run.
Draft time his value was probably still higher than now, but I think Ainge was holding out as a big piece for George trade.
Also if we didn't get lucky to sign Hayward, maybe Bradley stays after all.
I guess under the circumstances we did the best we could for a trade although all things being equal I'd rather have Bradley than Morris.
