The summer league team is a total mess as far as roster balance and the games lack any real structure but I still saw Zizic boxing out overtime the ball went up and running the floor. He caught the few decent passes that were made to him. He plays decent pick and roll defense and he's big at the rim. I saw a lot to like about our 20 year old center. I think he'll be better with better players. I guarantee that Zizic has never played in these kinds of Helter Skelter pick up games. I was watching the whole time he was on the court in all three games and while he was gassed at times I liked what I saw. I think he'll get some bench minutes this year against some of the really big centers in the NBA.

He also looked really good in the 1st half of game one.

My question is, why is he gassed? Is he out of shape? I thought one of his strengths was his motor and his overall all-out effort. It cannot be from playing in his euroleague, where they play a short season, with fewer games per week, and in which he plays 15 minutes a game at most.

He needs rest. This year he's played for two teams, and four big competitions: Adriatic League and Champions League until midseason, then Turkish League and Euroleague.

Now he's changed country again, also teammates, coaches, language, etc etc. He's just cooked as a teenager who isn't used to it.

He is much better than he's shown. Be patient.

EU players accumulate a surprising amount of games between different competitions. In Zizic's case, he played 65 games this season between four different leagues in Croatia and Turkey.

Also, he signed 6 days ago... was he even here before that? If not, he's probably barely gotten over the jet lag.

He looks fine to me at 20. Moves far better and has more to work with than a guy like Kendrick Perkins, who developed quite nicely

Zizic has only shown the ability to drop-step offensively. I wish he made a leap or the change in teams would allow him to show glimpses of a jump-shot...but nothing....just drop-steps.

He has gotten better so far I think.  I think he was out of shape at first.  The game is also faster and he was at high altitude in Utah.  I don't think people should be so down.   He has moved pretty well rolling to the rim and he certainly is a physical presence that can be a great pick setter and guy to throw against some of the real bigs in the league.

I think maybe some had too high of expectations but I think he keeps getting better as he goes and he can play high energy back up big minutes this year for the team.  He has good potential.

He works on it a lot at least.  I have seen that.  It would be big for him.

He does move pretty well rolling to the rim though which is a real offensive skill.  It's the reason Zeller is in the league at all.

If he had a jumper he could be a good pick and roll player.

This sums it up pretty well. Hope they don't burn him out.

Also, a year or two on NBA nutrition/training would do him some wonders. Just turned 20 so he's got some development/growing pains ahead of him.

Great points here, fellas.

The kid will get better and better with time and over time.

He clearly wants to play. Brad and staff will coach him up, little by little. He'll be fine.
