Lol. If it wasn't clear, I was just trying to add some levity to the thread.

I don't know about anyone else but this incident seems to be a crime of passion, a son defending his mother's honor and good name. My guess is if Morris wasn't a celebrity this case would already have been plea bargained out to a much lesser charge with probation or time served.

From all accounts Marcus has always been the more professional of the twins in the locker room and on the court. He was well liked in Detroit and was considered a locker room leader.

I think all this worrying about his character is just over-thinking a situation Morris regretted the day after it happened.

The incident doesn't concern me at all.

Keeping an eye on the ball;  the trade wasn't about Bradley or Morris, it was about Hayward.  Not sure Morris was/is in long term plans and not sure Cs are planing to give the guy minutes....

I can some folks in this thread have led sheltered lives.  The false outrage and shock over not wanting a guy who defended his mother's honor is pretty humorous.   Stuff like "I don't want a guy like this on the team"   GO BACK TO YOUR SAFETY SPACE if that offends you, haha.

Defending your mother's honor is one thing.  Enlisting three of your friends to help you hold someone on the ground while you kick them in the head and face is another thing.

According to the police report the man had sent their mother text messages that, "could have been considered flirtatious."

Maybe you're the one who's lived a sheltered life since you seem to want to view this as an act of heroism rather than what it actually was - a cowardly gang attack on a youth-league basketball coach.

I think taking any specific claims from any of this talk right now is going too far if you know anything about how things like this can go.

Exactly.

According to the Republic, the twins’ attorneys contend a witness told police he saw the Morris brothers in a parking lot “at least 100 yards away from the fracas,” and the testimony wasn’t shared with the grand jury. The motion also said prosecutors failed to mention Hood changed his version of the incident.

If you only read a police report, you'll get one set of allegations. If you only listen to defense attorneys, you'll get a completely different one.

The Celtics will have done their due diligence on this and would not have made this trade unless they were confident the proceedings would not impact Morris's ability to play.

Now, there's no such thing as a sure thing and this may all blow up in our faces regardless, but the notion that the Celtics may not have known about this is utterly absurd.
