This is still widely the better option than shipping Crowder out for nothing.

I agree.  I was about to poke pointy stick in my eye rather than see a sign and trade with Utah. This deal at least gives us a decent 4 to replace AJ. It would seem to be an upgrade on paper.

I can some folks in this thread have led sheltered lives.  The false outrage and shock over not wanting a guy who defended his mother's honor is pretty humorous.   Stuff like "I don't want a guy like this on the team"   GO BACK TO YOUR SAFETY SPACE if that offends you, haha.

Obviously some of these basketball fans don't follow football or they'd be used to this.

This has been pending for awhile. It could be very bad news, but charges like this have a way of resolving when professional athletes are involved.
I thought the Celtics passed on some deals last season because they had a great locker room and didn't want to add bad influence. So much about that glorious idea.

That was just Celtics Fan's means of trying to justify / excuse their god of basketball operations Danny Ainge for missing out on a potential franchise altering trade.

Since Ainge is a god and can do no wrong, and we all trust in Danny, it;'s not possible that he just screwed up and missed out on a deal that could have gotten us a franchise player.  No, no, it was intentional - attitude concerns man!

Since Ainge is stupid and can do no right in the eyes of crimson_stallion, he has failed to see the difference between lockerroom problem (cousins) from guys like Morris (who defended his mother) and Smart.

I guess people just talk without reading. Laughable.

I think it's pretty obvious that the only bad influence in this situation is Markieffe.

I notice a lot of people on these threads believe if they can think up a trade idea then it can just happen. Trades in the NBA are hard and teams do trades or don't do trades for a load of reasons and it takes two to make a trade. I really think Danny Angie has put together an excellent team this year...

I'm not sure we can blame Ainge for that. This reeks of Brad Stevens.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

This case had no legs to stand on in court, the man defended his mother. Do u not think Danny Ainge hasnt had his legal professional links look deep into this matter ?

Especially when its a trade that involves his best defender Avery Bradley?

Do u think that Danny Ainge is dumb enough to make a move without already knowing this case will easily be dismissed?

Gotta use ur noodles man

The "defending their mother" stuff won't be a legal defense.

Common sense tells us that Danny has some inside info that the court case will be resolved.

I never liked Morris as a human being, but hope he will mature and play well for the Celtics.

Having said this, in the worst case scenario, if Morris does jail time can the Celtics terminate his contract and remove his salary?
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Not that I'm concerned about this particular off court issue, but somebody needs to explain how on earth you think any of this is "defending his mother's honor."

From what I've read, Morris's mother texted Erik Hood first, "aren't you going to see me when you're in town?" or something like that (which may or may not be flirtatious in itself depending on their relationship).  Hood probably texted something flirtatious back, and this got the Morris brothers upset, which led to Hood getting beat up.  Erik Hood and their mother even had phone calls after the incident, clearly there's some relationship there (platonic or otherwise).

So 2 grown men got mad at a family friend for possibly hitting on their single mother, resulting in him getting beat up.

I don't see how any of that falls under "defending your mother's honor."  Sounds more like immature hood stuff.

Again, I'm not really concerned about this issue, but lets not act like it was probably some noble feat (unless you have other info, maybe it actually was).

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Agree with your assessment here. And in addition, there were 5 guys total - 3 others with the Morris brothers who were there to hold him down while they beat the guy. Two on one is bad enough but 5 on 1? Not noble.
