  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Trade Crowder for Willy, sign Crawford and Bogut with whatever exceptions we have.
PG: IT Smart Rozier
SG: Brown Crawford Nader
SF: Hayward Tatum Semi
PF: Horford Morris Theis
C : Willy Bogut Zizic

The spanish guy from the Knicks?

He is one of the worst defenders in the NBA. Unlikely will ever be a starting center in NBA because of his lack of defensive effort and lack of fire in general.

Nothing wrong with that :)
Great offensive player but revolving door on the other end.

I am pretty confident the Cs will start IT,Hayward,Crowder, Morris and Horford. The last two seasons when the playoffs where on the line BS went with a shooter at the 4 spot (JJ and then Green). I suspect the acquisition of Morris is in a way an acknowledgment of this. Morris is an upgraded version of JJ and will give the Cs a true 5 out starting lineup something even the Warriors do not have.

If Thomas is not available at the start of the season then:

PG: Smart, Rozier
SG: Brown, FA (Green/Crawford)
SF: Hayward, Crowder
PF: Tatum, Morris
C: Horford, Zizic

A nice combination of athletism, experience, defense, offense, playmaking and shooting in both units.

On opening night? Assuming IT is ready to go, it'll be: IT, Smart, Hayward, Crowder, Horford.

I don't know if that lineup will stick, particularly since I think that Smart is better off the bench and being the primary ball handler there. Crowder may be undersized at the 4 but he is strong and I think he's too "good" to come off the bench, particularly at the start of the season.

If Smart starts, he should be the primary ball-handler. If Brown does, IT should.

Yeah I agree.  I like Smart with shooting around him and starting off with a pass first guy.  Also the confidence boost you can give him with a start.  But you're right.

I think season opens up with an IT, Smart, Hayward, Crowder, Horford lineup and a bench of Rozier, Brown, Tatum, Morris, Zizic (as of now; I expect a veteran big to be signed).

But I think the lineup will change with matchups.

Ultimately, Brown will move into the starting lineup at some point next year.

Their best lineup might be IT, Brown, Hayward, Morris, Horford. Gives them most size and flexibity and shooting.

Tatum weighs 205 lbs. right now. He's not starting at PF.

I cringe at all of you wanting to strat crowder at the four.  He'd get abused it he played big minutes.

I think Jaylen is your two guard. The bradley move has to be to clear some space for playing time for brown.

As much as i like bradley and think we are a better team with him this year, realistically to contend the cs need one or both of Jaylen and tatum to become studs. Which means you need playing time for those guys

Guys like crowder and bradley are stop gaps

I think Brown and Tatum are the position less basketball 2/3 spots.

I think brown having a more ready NBA body will cover the stronger offensive players while Tatum will be the better offense player next year.

In this link Danny says he sees Hayward as a 2-3. I think he starts at 2.

After watching the first 3 summer league games, I think we see Brown and  Tatum  both get a chance to bring the ball up and also run the offense. If they can handle that we will see a lot of IT playing off the ball.  Gives a much different look and allows for ISO plays with those 2 as well when we need one.

I really believe that Gordon Hayward starts at two guard this year. He can handle the ball, he can shoot and he can make plays on and off the ball. I also think that being over looked is what an excellent defender Hayward is. Barring moves I see a very big quick Celtics team were everyone on the floor can shoot and pass like those old 80s Celtics squads.

Great starting 5 and definite contender....

Hayward is a fairly big small forward. He's a plus defender at that spot, but there are a lot of two guards he won't be able to keep up with, including the one we just sent to Detroit.

I would want Jaylen to start at the two. He's quick enough, and starting him will accelerate his development.
