A True Celtic. Excited to give him a proper send off when Detroit comes to town.

Absolutely. I'm going to miss that dude. He developed as well as any player in recent Celtics memory.

He's been my favorite Celtic for the past few years. Class act guy who works hard. But I understand why this happened. Still kind of sad.

  • GOT IT!!!
The last player left of the Big 3 era. He grew from a very raw rook to a very good starter. Now he'll be terrorizing the C's instead of the other way around. Good luck AB. You were pure class all the way. Enjoyed watching you develop. Get your money next year!

One of my favorites.  Just an overall good guy and hardworking player.  No complaining just work hard.  I won't miss the injuries and I'm sure this was a hard trade for the C's to make on a personal level.  Unfortunately it had to be done.  He just doesn't fit in the budget and the salary cap is not what is expected.  With adding Morris and Hayward someone like Smart is very valuable because he doesn't need to be the best shooter.  He can focus on D and making the hustle plays that win games.  His shooting, if improved, will be a bonus.  Good luck AB!  You will be missed.

Good luck Avery and thanks for everything!!! Hopefully you kill it over there in Detroit (except when playing us), so that you can collect your big paycheck and move WEST next season.

Seeing Avery go has me all:

And I'm about to go on a road trip (vacation) with family too to New Jersey. Ugh...

Proper Celtic = Team first. Defense first. Hard worker. Improved each year.

His block on Wade, his complete breaking of Jameer Nelson with full court pressure, and his two recent buzzer-beaters against the Cavs are some of my favorite plays of the past several seasons. Miss the guy. He deserves the huge payday he's got coming.

There are some guys that don't get hung in the rafters of the Garden. They just get hung in the rafters of our hearts and souls. Avery is first ballot inaugural class.

Good bye Avery. You are an immortal here

All the respect in the world for Avery.  Wish him the best.

Hope he balls out this year and earns a fat contract next offseason.

Also on a blog-centered note, Avery is Exhibit A in not giving up on young players too quickly. He was mostly dreadful his first year and a half and either despised or a punchline here.  Now he's beloved and one of the best defenders in the league.

Loved to watch a healthy AB. Thanks for the great effort. Wish him the best of luck and go get that $. Also how on earth wasn't more teams calling for AB and Smart. Guard defenders are a need out there.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I'm really going to miss Bradley.

What a dog he is defensively. His buzzer beaters lately made him a legend. Consummate professional. A classic case of a guy who worked hard and improved every single year he has been in the league.

I wish him all the luck in the world. Sad to see him go.
