Really sucks to see him leave for such little money. Danny will be kicking himself we could keep him for that kind of $$.
I was WAY off, I thought he'd get offers of 18-22 million a year x 4 years from the Nets, Hornets etc...
Starting two way PF with range. Great signing for Riley.

I thought at least 15mil.  i wonder if we overestimated how much it would take to keep him?  probably not, the front office probably knows a lot more than us.  not that we were ever really planning to keep him with all the other action

Olynyk to sign four year $50 million dollar deal with Miami

Thanks for Game 7 "Knockout Olynyk"  8)

Can't say I'll miss him much though. VERY inconsistent and besides that Game 7 was pretty much invisible the rest of the postseason. Unfortunate it couldn't work out. Annoying seeing 3rd string bigs eat him up almost every game  :o

Still surprised he "only" got 4/50M but I'm honestly glad it's not us paying it.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

really good signing by Miami...KO will be missed.   Not a perfect player but he played hard.  Unique skillset for his height. ... imo he was one of the pioneers of the modern day stretch 4/5

Whiteside
KO
Winslow
Waiters
Dragic

will make the playoffs
He wasn't a pioneer in the least. That credit goes to Dirk.

Never mind Sam Perkins. Or Cliff Robinson.
or Keith Van Horn.

Kelly did not invent this.

Can't wait to see Olynyk not get rebounds against Boston.

Around what I thought he'd get. Would've liked to have kept him but obviously not possible.

Heat is a nice fit, I suppose he comes of the bench behind Whiteside? Best of luck to him

Somewhere there's a thread from earlier in the season where I predicted KO would get $12-14 million per year, so I'm feeling both pleased at being correct and disappointed that it's with the Heat.

Who knows what Brooklyn would have offered to him had he waited until Washington matched Porter's offer but did he have any interest in them even for a lot more money.  He very likely had an offer on the table that was for more money to go to Indiana. Teams wanting him did not have to compete against the C's for his services.  Florida has no state tax.

If Kelly cares more about winning than money and doesn't want to be miserable in Brooklyn for the next 3 years??  You would have to offer me a LOT more money to be miserable on a bad team, with no chance to ever make the playoffs, bad weather, state tax...

Basically the market for RFA's has been destroyed, Brooklyn will be the only savior for a few of them (K.C.P., Green), the rest are going to be very disappointed.  Other than maybe Utah there are no good teams left with any cap to spend.  K.O. very likely received the last big contract from a possible contender.  The money is drying up VERY quickly and under the circumstances I would be very happy with the money and situation he ended up with in Miami!
