What could Utah tell him that he doesn't already know?

He is either being courteous to them with this final interview with the intention of bolting, or, he intended all along to return there, and was just being courteous to the Heat and Celtics.

This is my thought on why it won't be Utah. They have no ace cards to play. He tried to leave there once already. They are not bringing back Hill.

They are not bringing in any kind of star to pair with him. Their roster will be the same or worse than last year. They have no high draft assets to pick or trade for more talent.
Yeah it's pretty clearly either Miami or Boston.

It's like this..

Hayward wants to win
His wife wants the Miami lifestyle

He's not going to win in Miami, and the nightlife in Utah is a joke (just ask Matt Barnes)
So the logical compromise is Boston. Hayward gets his best chance to win and while Boston is not Miami his wife gets to live in a "See and be seen" kind of city.

It's Boston.

posted this in the other thread but appropriate for all GH discussion today for good feeling quota:

"It comes down to where I can compete for a title," [Hayward] told ESPN.com's Zach Lowe in December. "Where I live—that doesn't affect me. The limelight doesn't matter to me. I just want to make a run at it."
- Gordon Hayward
Hadn't heard this.  TP for digging it out. If this is still true, he's coming to Boston.

It's Boston.

He'll be making enough money to take trips to Miami, Hawaii, PR, DR, and any other nice weather place she wants to visit.

They are used to the weather in Utah, Boston is nothing.

Miami isn't better than Toronto, Milwaukee, Wiz, Cavs or Celtics.

Surprised at all the Heat premonitions... They seem a distraction third. What's with all the "wife wants Miami"? When has she said this? What does she do anyway?

If Miami signs Hayward...you have to think they lose Waiters and/or James Johnson. both guys were very important to them. The cannot sign them both with Hayward and even signing just one would be very tough

Hayward is not going to Miami.  For what? To play with whiteside and dragic? Come on.

He's either coming to Boston to try to win and reunite with Brad, or he's goin to stay in Utah.

I don't think danny has passed on opportunities for butler and george and others all because he wanted to fit Hayward in unless we had a strong indication that Hayward was likely to come. Danny is a gambler perhaps but not an idiot. There's no way we don't pony up on one of these other stars just because of a hope for reuniting Hayward and Brad.

Hayward is coming. But if he doesn't it will be because of Utah.

Sums up my feelings. Miami's roster is mediocre at best. If Hayward stays in Utah, I'll be disappointed but I'll understand. If he comes to Boston, awesome! If he chooses Miami, I'll be perplexed and mad.

Source says Gordon Hayward isn't locked into any timeline on deciding. Wants to get through meeting with Jazz today and then will regroup.

Then why is he considering Miami?  Oh yeah, b/c he can make more money (after taxes) :(

That said, I do think the Celtics have a good shot at getting Hayward.  Hopefully we find out soon!  ;D
Miami was on a 60 win pace for the entire second half of the season.  They have two "stars" in the same general age range as Hayward.  They don't have uncertainty with multiple starter level players being free agents next summer, and thus don't have a real concern for luxury taxes coming into play to keep the band together.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Are there any reports that his wife wants to "see and be seen", or are you just making assumptions?

do you have a source that says Robyn likes to "see and be seen"? you are suggesting that for the chance to rent a baby sitter for their two kids and go clubbing, the haywards make a career decision?

honestly, from what people write, the haywards seem to be homebodies not nightclubbers.
