I would rather throw $25 +million a year at Paul Millsap for 2 years than KO for $15-20 million a year for 4 years

The trick is that we have to wait out 2-3 days gambling on Hayward. During that time Millsap will be gone I think.  :(

Then do it with Serge Ibaka. A downgrade, but he would still help us in a way Millsap would (defend, stretch the floor, offer some semblance of scoring).

For two years? Sure.

TP. I forgot about Ibaka

Boston only option is to get Hayward. If they do not they will have to build through the draft. Period. There are no more super stars to chase or impact FAs to go after this year or next

It would really depend on the contract Ibaka would sign...

Okay yeah this was kind of an ill advised thread.

I apologize guys.

But it would be upsetting to go through all this hype the past few months only to see us grab Tatum and then keep most of the "dead weight" on this team.

Especially when you see so many other teams improving and not giving as much in the process  :(

I don't think Kelly Olynyk will get $20million per year.  I think he'll get about $12m.

I'd be quite thrilled if we kept the gang together, re-signing Kelly at a reasonable rate, continuing to develop our young core for the future while being a solid playoff team.

Paul George? eh.  Gordon Hayward? eh.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

The way this market is now... Whatever you assume is reasonable for a player, they'll probably get a lot more than that LOL.

So 12M/Year for KO may end up something like 16-18M/Year, or even more (yikes...)

Unless KO is happy taking a decent pay cut to stay here.

It is Hayward or bust. The FA market this year after him is Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.. More practice players signed

Tony Snell reportedly just re-signed with the Bucks for 4 years at $11.5m per year.

I think he's on par with Kelly, value-wise.

I don't.  Mind you, I also think that Snell is a ridiculous overpay.

What do you imagine Olynyk gets from Boston w/Bird Rights, @salt?

I think anything above 15M/Year is ridiculous to be honest.

A whole this summer will pass just by. From all big expectations and lights towards us we did nothing. We went down on the draft in order to get more picks for trading and as usual we did NOTHING.
Makes me stop following anything around Celtics but the court.

It's not foolish to believe he could get close to it though.

I mean, I'd be shocked we if we could actually keep KO for less than 13M/Year.

Lots of bad teams or "desperate teams w/cap space" out there can overpay, as we saw with Evan Turner.
