No, I'm not saying he has to sign an extension before we deal for him...but I am saying if his heart and mind and wallet are made up to the point that he is already wearing purple and gold in his dreams, that there is no way I want to hear his name called out in the TD Garden for our team!
If he is willing to come to Boston with an open mind, I believe he will find the fan base open to him and through the year, with the hopeful success we would have, then maybe the grass will truly be greener for him to stay in Boston long term.
His talent is evident...but I don't want anybody to think they can play for the Celtics only as a stepping stone to something "better". If that's what he wants...I'd rather roll the dice on Griffin.
