They gave up Russell to dump Moz why not #2 and Deng for PG and pick 18.

Because trading the #2 overall pick for someone who is going to sign with your team after next year anyways is what some would consider dumb.

I think earning cap space is the only real goal. If they can't get other teams to help adding that salary to PG trade is only last option.

Do the Pacers even want George on the team at the start of the season?  I'd imagine it would be a pretty tense locker room and how do you introduce your team to the crowd during the pregame (I would suspect the fans will boo him pretty mercilessly).  Not saying they should give him away but I think it's in the Pacers best interest to get this taken care of before next season.

Because if he ends up going to Cleveland or Boston, it's very unlikely that he leaves a 60+ win team to go to what will amount to a bottom-5 team again.

Has anyone heard what the plan with Lopez is? Are they planning on keeping him or flipping him for more assets?

I guess they keep him. He clears something like 21 million next summer, when they can chase PG13 and LeBron. So it fits their financial timeline.

This whole LA thing has made me kinda dislike george but I have to imagine we could get him to stay and I know we could beat the Lakers offer.
