Trade the lakers pick for PG. If Lakers get him, the value of that pick drops so why not just deal it for him?
Because the kings haven't won more than 33 games in 9 years.

Pacers will take it. It's a crap offer but I doubt other than Cleveland anyone will beat it.

I don't get it. WHY CAN'T WE JUST BEAT THIS.

Why are we waiting for Hayward? Is it 100% in the works? The waiting game is no fun. I want my SUPERSTAR NOW!

Okay, okay, I'll calm down.

But seriously, of all teams interested, why aren't we in this one? Its either Ainge not interested, or an under the radar move by Ainge to swoop in.

I mean, I'd say that Rozier plus the Memphis pick and the LA pick is easily just as good, and probably better, than that Lakers offering. I'd probably offer a bit more to that package to get it done, but not much more. I think LA would up their offer to Ingram or the 2nd pick in that case, though.

But Danny is probably waiting on several other potential deals before ultimately going after Butler or George. There's also the matter of timing. To have room for another max contract in free agency, which I'm not sure is the goal, they'd have to make a George trade AFTER signing a Hayward or Griffin.

I know that teams can agree upon deals weeks before ever completing those deals, but I'm not sure if Indy is willing to do that right now with them wanting to get this done and over with.

If they get George, we're not getting the Lakers pick, that's for sure.

Someone tell me I'm crazy:

Wouldn't the #6 pick all by itself blow the Lakers offer out of the water? If you're Orlando and you haven't made the playoffs in 5 years and your core doesn't work together, why not go after George? Even if it's only for a year, a lineup of Payton, Fournier, George, Gordon, Vucevic makes the playoffs next season. There's a slim chance you convince George to stay and even if you don't, you gave the fans a show for a year and you're right back where you started in terms of not having pieces that work or a clear path to contention but at least you tried something.

We can but we probably don't want to play chicken with George and his agent.

And there's no way Indiana prefers Love to the Laker offer.  They are going full bore rebuild, which means as young as possible.

They can easily flip Love for better assets than that. Hell, Boston, Milwaukee, OKC, Phoenix, etc. would all give better packages for Love than that George poo poo platter.

Ainge needs to offer better. Rental or not, the Lakers need to suck next year and Ainge cannot let the Lakers get him with such a weak offer.

I think its good that we aren't hearing any talks of celtics' offers for PG13.  Danny should wait to hear the best offer Pacers get, and then jump in to top the offer.  If he engages in talks now, Pacers will be asking for a lot of assets, knowing that Celtics have a treasure chest of assets.  For any trade offers, I think Celtics should sit back and let the market dictate the best offer, then jump in to top it.

I agree with this. While there is a very good chance the pick will still be very high in 2019, it would still be a bigger relief to have it convey next season.

Don't make the trade at all costs, but at least beat the offer LAL is making.

A rental of George is worth maybe  a 2nd rounder. Even then we've had players like IT and draymond come out of that round

If people were that interested in Love, they'd be jumping in to make it a three-way deal.  The reputation of Love as an elite top 5 or even top 10 player has been shredded by being the third wheel in Cleveland.

Making a trade for George at this point foregoes free agency.  If they really feels he's going to walk, not only is it a rental, it's a rental who gets in the way of a max free agent.

If George is still on the Pacers in July, that is when the Celtics should move.  Not today.

Offering Randle is a joke. He is due to be a restricted free agent and isn't that good. Indiana shouldn't move PG for less than a lottery pick. The Lakers are trying to trade for PG because they think there is a chance he won't sign with them, especially if he manages to make all NBA ans gets a super max offer from Indiana.

I think Bird is still a consultant for Indiana he's not dumb. He knows PGs value.
