i am wondering if celtics are trying to use 3rd pick and others for porzingus
and the other picks for butler
butler wants to go to the cavs. Not celtics

I get that vibe also. From last year at the draft to the trade deadline to now...Feels like Butler is the one who does not want boston

That's interesting if true. Why would the C's turn down Butler for the third pick?

Also Butler made the All NBA team? He's top 20 but??

Why trade the 3 pick for butler and lose max FA space if we know Gordon Hayward is coming and can keep the 3 pick?

I'm confused. Some are saying that Chicago turned down an offer of Butler for 3 straight up. But the way I read it was that Boston turned that offer down, which is confusing if so.

If Boston did turn it down, it must be that they're working on something a bit bigger at the moment.

Ainge doin' Ainge thangs.

Probably trying to get Chicago to settle for a package of Zeller's non-guaranteed, and 2021 2nd round pick, and Brian Scalabrine's old jock strap.

I can't imagine that he doesn't make that type of trade if nothing else materializes, though.

And? He's under contract for two more years at least. The Bulls will ship him wherever they get the best deal.

Or Danny feels like he's the puppet master and while he's oogling his assets, Cleveland's gonna work out a three team deal where Phoenix gets Love, Chicago gets #4, and Cleveland gets Butler.

I don't know what to expect anymore.

Fine by me.

And when Lebron leaves, where will Butler want to go next?

HIGHLY doubt the Lakers can hypothetically fit all of Lebron, PG13, and Butler...  :P

Didn't you hear though?

Bulls are now "actively" shopping Jimmy Butler, Boston and Cleveland are the front-runners, per @CSNChicago https://t.co/xm8we3M6c2 https://t.co/TbaT1Lzrt2

Sorry... also...

NBA Trade Rumors: Bulls' Jimmy Butler is 'gone,' it's just a matter of Celtics or Cavs https://t.co/vbzSpRO7G8 https://t.co/GHAiftP6rk

Eh, Chicago is supposedly in love with Jackson, so 4 probably won't do it for them.

Agreed. But I don't think they know that or perhaps trade enough $ going out so you can get both. Not sure WTH we would do for big men at that point.

http://sportsmockery.com/2017/06/bulls-front-office-choosing-fred-hoiberg-over-jimmy-butler/

Apparently the FO, who also has had beef with Butler, is choosing Hoiberg (LOL) over Butler.

Butler might actually be gone this time. Before committing to Butler, I'd like to know what else is in the cards for upgrading our other big spot.

Butler's "max" salary came when the cap was much smaller, and with him having two more guaranteed years before an opt-out, I wonder what other options would be on the table for us.

We'd need to do something like trade Avery, Zeller, Crowder, Mickey, Jackson for no returning salary and release KO to offer a max deal to Hayward/Griffin.

Jimmy is stud (IMHO). If the Bulls are stupid enough to choose Hoiberg over Jimmy, then I'd be ecstatic if we're the team that benefits.

Otherwise, I'm just not sure what other options there are via trade for #3. Paul George - bless his silly, homesick heart - wants Los Angeles and his contract is a much bigger gamble. Despite the CBlog driven narrative, there's ZERO evidence that Anthony Davis is available. We've already said "thanks, but no thanks" to Demarcus Cousins. I'm just not sure who else upgrades us via trade that's realistically attainable.

Butler has had beef with a lot of people including Tibs over the last few years. I bet DA not wanting to get rid of the 2017 pick, because he wants to flip Butler/#3/2018/SAC19/Zeller/Filler for AD.

Okay, I don't know if he wants to do that, but thats what I would do.
