Boy, if Danny really does have Jackson and Tatum rated equally or wants Tatum over Jackson, I could really see him moving down once again and picking up another pick (such as that unprotected 2021 Miami Heat pick that Phoenix owns), Chriss, or Bender in the deal. Makes sense for Phoenix, too, because I think Jackson looks to be a much better fit between Booker and Chriss than Tatum.

Moving down from 1-4 would look a bit better to me if we got Tatum, the Lakers/Sacramento pick, AND another significant asset from Phoenix, preferably that Heat pick. I like Tatum over Jackson anyways, so that's a win/win for me regardlesss.

Come on. No way Phoenix is going to give you a young prospect or a future first (except heavily protected) to move from 4 to 3.

Ehhh, I can see them trading the 2018 Heat pick (which will likely be a late lottery pick next year) without adding protections (well, relevant protections.  They may make it #1 protected in 2019, but that's irrelevant because 1. the Heat won't be bad enough for a top 7 pick next year and 2. the Heat won't be bad enough for a #1 pick in 2019)

That would be fantastic, because I feel that Ainge has Fultz, Ball, Jackson and Tatum rated in a similar tier. But surely Phoenix knows it as well, so I think a lottery-protected pick and 4 is the most we can get.

If the Suns want Jackson and we want tatum why not just pick up the heats pick on top of everything and still get the player we want

Lets have it. This is an easy deal.

#3 for the #4, and we get the rights to swap our 2018 1st rounder to theirs.

What say you, Phoenix?

Are you saying Boston's pick? No way they do that lol They're clearly bound for the early to mid lottery again, and we'll most likely be 26 or later again.

Now, swap rights with the Brooklyn  pick is more reasonable. I'm not sure if you could do it with the LA pick. That'd pretty much give us three teams' worth of ping pong balls for the top couple of picks next year. And that's not much risk for them either, because Brooklyn projects to be just as bad this year.

One of the Heat picks would be much more likely, though.

Great idea! Throw in a relevant piece like Crowder and look out for the 2018 draft where we'll possibly pick 1-3 and add Doncic, Porter and Bamba to the team  ;D.

That would be great if thats the case. We would then get Tatum plus two first rounders for the #1 pick.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
If we are getting a similar asset to the proposed Sac deal (or slightly worse), I would prefer this as it guarantees we get Tatum (even though I still prefer Jackson). Trading to #5 gives no guarantee as PHX could take him and we would be left in the 2nd tier. Unless Ainge knows PHX will take Isaac or Fox, this deal makes more sense.

It'd be pretty gangster of Ainge to trade down twice with the same pick in one draft.  I don't ever recall that happening in the NBA.

I can't imagine the Suns are going to do this until all those 3 team trades fall through or go on without them.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

In that case, Boston would select for Phx as part of the agreement.  it's not an uncommon occurance.

Flipping for 3 to 4 is easy. From 3 to 5 not so much because if you have your heart set on a certain player what happens if the Suns take that player? You can no longer say you got the player you wanted by trading down and collecting assets.

It might be that Danny has moves in place to move down to either 4 or 5 depending on what the Lakers do.

If Lakers take Ball (and Jackson is available) He might trade for the 5 and 10 because maybe SAC covets Jackson.

If Lakers take Jackson, he might trade down to 4 because Phoenix wants Ball.

Phoenix and SAC probably don't want to move up until they know what happens at #2, or they can just trade up to #2 themselves.

IF the Lakers take Ball, he would have to be convinced that Phoenix doesn't want Tatum.  He could trade down to #5 to get Tatum while thinking Phoenix would take Fox.

If there is a prehandshake for this deal...wont be announced until the #2 pick is made....what if lakers take Jackson?

Ainge will want a future 1st of some kind... Min swap rights

Ainge better not give RM a previous assistant gm discount

These rumors only prove how much more of a hot commodity Jackson is compared to Tatum in the open market
