So we are trading down in the draft AND choosing Vucevic over Hayward/Griffin? Yikes.
Not sure that people are even picking up on this. Vucevic's salary makes a max contract virtually impossible without totally mangling our team.
People on this blog simply do NOT understand what a QUALITY big Vucevic is!!! Secondly, we will also be trading for Paul George. I will got to war with a starting lineup of IT, AB, PG, Al, and Big V all day long!!! We will still have Smart, Rozier (maybe), Zizic, Jaylen, perhaps our #3 pick, Nader, etc. off the bench!!

I actually like quite like Vucevic and would not be opposed to bringing him to Boston
if and only if all other plans fall through.
Horford could play power forward with Vucevic at center - it could work nicely. Horford's defense makes up somewhat for Vucevic's lack of it, while Vucevic could make up for Horford's lack of rebounding and his fading post game. Big V is also has a solid midrange jumper, so he can help to stretch the floor. At $12M/2 he'd give us a solid short term solution up front.
BUT
Vucevic isn't getting us past Golden State, and he's not making us a legit contender...and I actually really like Tatum's upside and think he's the type of player who could be a cornerstone for this team moving forward. I am not comfortable giving him up for Vucevic. If we could get George/Butler AND Vucevic without giving up Tatum then I'd consider it as a last resort move.
Otherwise, to be honest, I would rather try to sign Ibaka to $12M - $15M (if possible) and trade for George rather then give up a bright prospect like Tatum for Vucevic.
