Porzingis here increases your chance of getting Hayward exponentially I would think.  Now you'd have a team that would give Golden State problems.  Porzingis/Horford/Hayward/IT/Bradley - Brown as 6th man.  I'll take my chances with that group.

GS would run right past that team. Not enough defense to cause them problems. You going to put Horford and Porzingis on the floor together? GS would laugh at that. Who will Heyward guard? Answer...nobody.
Do you think Hayward is a bad defender?

I don't like Porzingis. He can shoot 3s and block shots, but he's a big gawky kid who would be an average player if he was 4 inches shorter. The league is about athleticism right now, and that's not him.
But he is NOT 4 inches shorter so I fail to see the point. Porzingis has skills, does everything pretty well. Don't judge a book by its cover.

Porzingis isn't athletic? Have you watched him?
He's slow footed and doesn't really stand a chance on the perimeter.

We're getting calls. As much as we value Kristaps and what he's done for us, when a guy doesn't show up for an exit meeting everybody starts speculating on the duration or movability from a club," Jackson said in an interview on MSG Network.

"So we've been getting calls and we're listening, but we're not intrigued yet at this level. But as much as we love this guy we have to do what's good for our club."

Phil so petty. This really sounds personal at this point. Phil now feuding with both Carmelo and Kristaps, and he's going to hit the reset button and start all over.

I mean, he has to at this point, right? After all this has went down, you can't really keep Porzingis now, can you? I mean, the Knicks were already dysfunctional, but how much worse will things be now after Phil's antics?

I mean, they still haven't traded Carmelo.

Phil loves the drama. Throw in a Kardashian and this thing is primetime reality TV gold.

Wouldn't he still be a 7 footer if he was 3 inches shorter?

Which makes him 3 feet taller than any player we have.

I think that is also in part due to him being a 7'3"-7'4" 21 year old who probably doesn't have his feet under him. I don't think he's done physically developing, nor has he gotten used to his body yet. That being said, I think in the long term he will definitely be a 5, and thus less required to defend perimeter based players.

Why do I get the feeling Melo will have to be attached to any Porzingis trade?

It makes sense, Porzingis seems to not be enjoying his time in New York, he doesn't like the triangle offense as half the team doesn't. I think the possibility is they don't think the Zinger wants to stay a Knick when FA times comes around.

Get rid of Melo, and the salary, and head off Porzingis walking away for nothing.

Divert Melo to Cleveland.

Boston receives Porzingis/Shumpert/Jefferson
N.Y. receives Bradley/Crowder/Zeller/Frye + #3
Cleveland receives Anthony

N.Y. can cut Zeller as his deal in non guaranteed and Frye is an expiring next year.

I don't see how this gets done without jaylen.  Crowder?  Come on.  And Bradley isn't signed and doesn't help a rebuild.  I wouldn't trade Brown.  And I  don't think they could get it done without all the early firsts

I'm 100000% on the Porzingis train. If the Cs are going to ship off a large amount of assets, he's the guy to give them up for.

And the Knicks are so stupid they might actually really trade him.

That's completely different with Carmelo's no trade clause, though. He would've been traded long ago if he didn't have that.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

I saw Porzingis play for the first time in a preseason game his rookie year vs. the Celtics. I knew right then and there the kid was going to be a stud. He might be a little weak lower-body wise, but he TOWERS over NBA players (I have a picture of him next to David Lee, and it's not even close), his movements are fluid as heck (super skilled and balanced), and he's so dang bouncy for a big guy (elevated with ease for dunks/rebounds). If Ainge can get the kid, he'll be a heck of a Celtic for a very long time.

Melo would almost certainly wave his no trade clause to go to Cleveland and play with his buddy Lebron.  He would also very likely wave it to come to Boston if we kept him.
