The Celtics land two top five picks next year and end up with Ayton the Dwight Howard with a jumper and Michael Porter Jr the dream small Ball PF/SF

That's game over right there. Championship team once we put them all in the oven together and cook them low and slow. Once we turn down the heat and bring to a simmer, If Horford can still eat that's gonna be a winning meal.

 DeAndre ayton
 Al Horford
 Michael Porter Jr
 Gordon Hayward
 Isaiah Thomas

Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Smart, Rozier, Zizic, Yabu

This would be a super team.

Tatum is better than Porter Jr.

Porter Jr. Is overrated imo.

I go back and forth with those 4 prospects. One day I want Alton the next I want bamba or doncic. We have a good chance to get one of these guys. Brooklyn and lakers need to be bad. Lakers traded away Russell to get George. Lol they missed out. Lopez isn't going to do anything. Lakers also lost nick young

Is Ayton a legit unicorn?

Like Porzinigs, KAT, Anthony Davis, or even Myles Turner good?

He seems to be a decent athlete (probably as athletic as KAT???) and has good footwork and skill set.

Is he a equal or comparable prospect to any of those 4 guys?

Question.

IF Knicks suck and Porzingis wants out, are you willing to give up 1 of the 2 2018 picks (probably Lakers)?

Or if Anthony Davis somehow is available, would you be willing to give up 1 or (gulp) both 2018 picks in a package for him?

Or are they 200% untouchable with the prospects coming out of the next draft?

I think it's an interesting debate of sorts.

If the Celtics got Ayton + Porter Jr. in the draft to go with Brown, Tatum with the core of veterans (IT, Hayward, Horford, etc.), I would lose my you know what and completely mark out!

But with Ainge, I would not hold my breath as he may pass on both lol.

I dunno about that last point. Next year's draft looks to have a dearth of undersized, gritty wings who can't shoot. Not his type of draft.

Porter Jr. Is overrated imo.
I don't know about better than Tatum, but I disagree completely about being overrated. He can shoot it from a mile away, and can shoot over almost anyone. He also has that little move where he throws his hip into the defender to create a tiny bit of space, then hits the fallway jumper ala Bird.

He scored like 15 in the 4th to bring his team from behind against Marvin Bagley's team. Bagley made him look bad on D a few times, but Porter made some key stops, including a couple late on Bagley. And Bagley is going to make pretty much anyone who guards him look bad.

IMO, Porter is a better prospect than either Ayton or Bamba. I can't really say about Doncic, they may all be behind him. He certainly is intriguing. Porter's also a Brad Stevens type of forward, whereas Ayton, Bamba, and Bagley will likely be bigs.

The whole order changes if Bagley reclassifies, because he'll be #1 whichever year he comes out, but last I heard, he said he wasn't going to do that.

Sorry to rain on this parade, but I think it's unlikely Boston collects that Laker pick. Everyone forgets how badly the Lakers tanked last year to lock down their position and save the pick. They won't do that again this coming year - no incentive - and there are some awful teams forming in the East.

Yes Ayton has not been talked about as much because his offensive polish/game during the big tourneys/summit...like Hoop Summit. IMO the best comparison is Myles Turner but slightly longer and larger.
I've studied Ayton and he possesses an offensive game that will translate right to the pro's due to his jumper: turn-around, fade-away, face-up, step-back.

He is 6'11'' w.o shoes
7'5'' wingspan
9'4'' standing reach

We may not get their pick, but it's not like tanking and just being bad are that distinguishable with them. Their top 2 scorers from last year are already traded, and their best shooter just left town. They were a bad basketball team with those guys, and the only thing of value they've added is Lonzo Ball. Before they went into tank mode, they were 15-26, and when they traded Lou Williams, they were 19-39.

They were bad, and in the short term, they're undeniably worse. It's not unrealistic at all to think they'd be among the bottom feeders. What's unrealistic is thinking they won't be.

great athleticism.
"He has the ability to dominate the game in the paint, using his size and strength to finish inside, crash the boards, and protect the rim. He is not the most explosive athlete, but he is long, and quick off the floor, and has the fluidity and change of speed to look at ease running the floor in transition, not a skill many guys his size have. - Source: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/DeAndre-Ayton-7302/ "

He is springy enough for a center, but his strength lies in his movement. The kid runs like a deer in the open court. And he is alot stronger than most skilled centers at his age.

No

Porter jr. Has no handles.  His defense is inconsistent

He cant create his own shot

He can shoot. And throw down alleys. And is 6'10. Good motor

I still like Ayton and Bamba better. Better defensive potential
