I don't really think he's focused on Jackson. The timing of all of this makes me think that he truly does want to pair Hayward or Griffin up with one of Butler or George, or some other unknown available star.
Otherwise, why would this not wait until the draft to make sure that Jackson is actually available at 3?
Yeah, it just doesn't add up to me. I also don't think that Ainge would move down just for more value. He knows that top-level talent wins in this league, and that's what Fultz represents over those like Jackson and Tatum. It doesn't matter if you get extra value from moving down if it ultimately puts you even further away from truly competing with top-level talent.
Granted, we haven't heard an absolute thing about Danny wanting someone like Ball, and given how stuff in the past has went, it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see him take someone like Ball at 3 and blow everyone's minds lol
