i've always thought Jackson made more sense.   wasn't he the highest rated player in the country going into college?  i just remember Arizona waiting desperately on his decision.
he was the highest rated COLLEGE prospect.

A year later and he is NOT the highest rated PROFESSIONAL prospect.

it happens.

Jeff Goodman was just on Sportscenter talking about how there's a ton of misinformation out there right now from the top 4 teams (Boston, LA, Philly, and Phoenix) trying to influence who others take.

I'm guessing this Jackson rumor is part of that misinformation. He also felt pretty confident that LA would take Ball.

Out of all the things out there, this is the only thing you can know for sure.

Danny might want Jackson and would trade down to number 3 to get him and a chip from Philly--Meanwhile the Lakers bring in Jackson to get Danny to deal with them for Fultz.

If this is the case, Danny should call the Lakers bluff and draft Fultz...Lakers select Ball and then Ainge deals with Philly.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

I'm sure Danny likes Jackson, but I will go with Scalabrine who said all season long that Ainge liked Fultz.

"I've picked Danny's brain for years," one GM said
Wonder if this is doc.

Could be Ryan McDonough
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

josh Jackson is an excellent prospect.  Of course Ainge should really like him.  I like Fultz slightly better, but they are both excellent prospects and I don't think it is as simple of a decision as most make it seem to be.  I kind of have the feeling that neither will end up being the wrong pick.

Are you me?

If we take Josh Jackson and he goes to 10 all star games and anyone else in the top 5 picks becomes a better player then he's a bust (unless he leads us to more rings than them)

I think the more we hear about the less likely it is, it was pretty quiet yesterday and I was more inclined to think it might happen.   But with it getting out there Ainge is trying to move down pick his guy and get an asset from LA or Philly depending on who LA takes.  This is driving up his value, like I said, I was inclined to believe it when it was quiet and less likely now.  Ainge never shows his hand.

The scary thing is he may like Ball.  He has been silent about that.   But think about the guys he has picked, he has never came out and said I am taking Rozier, Smart or Brown.  I think it all comes down to how enamored he is with the present team.   Is he in love with our guards ?

All I can say is, I'll be really p---ed he the Celtics take Jackson. Not saying he won't be a good, maybe even great player, but anyone who watched this team last year can clearly see they need two things desperately.
One, some players who can score the ball. Two, a big who can rebound and guard the rim.
As they is no bigs in this draft that really fit number 2, they have to address number one.
Fultz is that guy. There really doesn't seem to be much doubt he's an offensive machine.
Jackson who be yet another great athlete, who can do lots of great things, but can't shoot. Not needed. Celtics have plenty of them.

Take the better player, Fultz.  The "asset collecting" phase of this rebuild is over.

Fultz will help with scoring but only one guy can have the ball at one time,   It will be him and IT and the max free agent all wanting it.   I think if we take Fultz then we will be trading a guard.

I'm sure Ainge loves Jackson.  He's definitely a Brad/Danny type of guy.  Just because you really like someone does not mean you will draft him over a better player.  Danny will always take the best pick at the spot he is in.  If he had the number 1 last year do you think he'd pass up on Simmons for Jaylen because of how much he liked Jaylen?  Heck no.  He'd pick Simmons because he was the best player at that spot.  Same with Ingram at 2.  Best pick no matter the position unless the two players are so closely ranked you pick need.

When's the last time he selected someone that didn't work out for the team, though? Never mind at such a high pick
I'm bitter.
