From what I've seen out there, one of the picks was the pick that ultimately became Brown.

Source?
It was all over this forum.  I mean it was awhile ago.

It was speculated, but I never read a newspaper source that claimed it was included.

We got the LA Clippers '19 1st rounder for trading those early 2nd rounders to Memphis. It's heavily protected and could eventually turn out to be two 2nd rounders as well.

By the way, if Chris Paul goes to the Spurs, I could see Griffin bailing too and heading to the C's.

In that case the Clips' 2019 pick could a little more valuable.  It's 1-14 protected in 2019 and 2020.  While they would be a lot less competitive without those two, they'd suddenly have lots of cap space and Steve Ballmer is willing to spend.  As long as they stay out of the lottery the C's could end up with a pick in the high teens.

He averaged 10.9ppg in 34 minutes.  While Jaylen Brown, who is the exact same height and weight, averaged 6.6ppg in 17 minutes with .45/.34/.68 shooting percentages.

This is bothering me.  I don't care what NBA.com says, does anybody else besides me think, without any evidence to back it up, that Winslow is certainly taller and heavier than Jaylen Brown?  Or is my intuition just very wrong on this one?

Ainge was out of his mind to offer those picks.  He realized that afterwards.

Quote
Meeting with reporters in the aftermath of the draft, Ainge hinted at his team’s dogged pursuit. "Maybe we were going too hard at it," he said. "There was a time when I thought, ‘Woah, this is getting a little out of control.’ We’re putting a lot of eggs in one young player’s basket. So I’m not frustrated. In the long run, maybe it’ll be the best."

One of the things I'm most thankful for is Jordan turning Danny down.  Phew.

Winslow seems stockier to me. Not sure about taller. Think they are about the same height. Winslow is certainly stronger by a good amount.

Wrong.  It was confirmed by a Miami reporter that the original proposed deal did not include one of the Brooklyn picks.

from what Ive read, Winslow is their Marcus Smart. If you look at the numbers you think hes trash, but if you watch them with regularity he actually had a lot of value for them.

a Mimi reporter knows what Boston offered the Hornets.  I find that hard to believe when the national guys were reporting a BKN pick was included which Ainge has never denied and which he has said numerous times he was glad the trade fell through because he offered too much. A bunch of mid to late 1sts is not too much. That doesn't mortgage the future as was referneced in Forsberg's piece.

Found it. It was Lowe

http://grantland.com/the-triangle/good-charlotte-the-hornets-and-the-sliding-scale-of-nba-mediocrity/

Lowe says it was 16, 15 (in a prearranged trade with the Hawks), a BKN pick, and the MEM or MIN 1st (the MIN became 2nds).

No one expected BKN to fall apart that fast and the 2016 BKN was still be projected outside the lottery at the time of the 2015 draft.

Lowe has so many details that he seems pretty clearly to have talked to someone he trusted with the information for him to run that story.  Most reporters just said 4 firsts without listing any of them

At the combine, Brown was 1 lb heavier, and 3/4" taller. Obviously both have changed a little in the year since Brown was there and the 2 since Winslow was, but there's negligible difference in their size.

Most of the 'details' were pretty obvious.  Lowe's piece just fits within the zillions of crazy rumors flying around during that draft for everyone to hear, read and see.  His contribution is to gather a bunch of them and write them into a narrative.  That doesn't make it truth at all.

There is no confirmation to be found here other than what you want to believe.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

jay king from masslive saying that Ainge hinted a BKN pick was included.

http://www.masslive.com/celtics/index.ssf/2015/06/boston_celtics_draft_rumors_da.html

A GM is never going to confirm actual details but they absolutely deny untrue reports all the time.  Ainge has never denied a BKN pick was offered. In fact most of his statements imply one was unless you think he somehow regretted offering a bunch of mid to late 1sts for a player he really liked. That just isn't logical. Ainge pretty clearly offered a BKN pick to Charlotte.
