I know Danny was really high on Winslow and was about to give up six picks (including 4 first-rounders) to get him.  Most likely those picks were used to draft:

2015 Draft: Terry Rozier (No. 16), R.J. Hunter (No. 28) and Jordan Mickey (No. 33)
2016 Draft: Guerschon Yabusele (No. 16), Ante Zizic (No. 23) and Deyonta Davis (No. 31)

The Celts have cut Hunter, are soon to cut Mickey, have Euro-stashed Yabusel and Zizic, and trade the Deyonta Davis pick.

So right now would you trade Yabusele, Zizic, and Davis (or let's say the Memphis 2019 1st-rounder we got for him) in exchange for Winslow?

Winslow's numbers last season (in 18 games due to injury) were atrocious.  They were Marcus Smart bad in terms of shooting percentage at .35/.20/.61.  Yes, it was only 18 games, but that's still over 1/5th of the season.

He averaged 10.9ppg in 34 minutes.  While Jaylen Brown, who is the exact same height and weight, averaged 6.6ppg in 17 minutes with .45/.34/.68 shooting percentages.

No. Brown is your Justice Winslow with maybe a higher ceiling. I'm not even considering trading Zizic until we see what we got with him. He could easily be more valuable than Winslow.

From what I've seen out there, one of the picks was the pick that ultimately became Brown.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Wow.  I think if Danny had offered the 2017 Brooklyn pick, along with three other 1st rounders, even Michael Jordan couldn't have said no to that!  Remember, we offered this to Charlotte at #9, even though they took Frank the Tank and the Heat took Winslow at #10.

But of course, you can't put anything like that past GM/Owner Jordan.

I'm happy with Brown at this point.

Winslow's defense is good but his offensive game needs a ton of work. I like Brown better. Thank you, Your Airness, for being an idiot!

Im not sure of the direction of the OP on this one but I never understood the Brown comparison to Winslow. Brown is much more explosive than Winslow and a much better athlete. I could see from the basic perspective of people viewing Brown's D as his best asset but Winslow never had the offensive gifts of Brown even on a lower level.

With all that being said we dont know what picks were offered and if they would have cost us Jaylen. Im glad they didnt.

As stated originally they are the same exact size and most-likely position.  I never said they played the same style or had similar strengths/weaknesses.

It would have been an overpay then and would still be an overpay even with the benefit of hindsight.  No, I would not trade Yabusele, Zizic, and the Memphis Pick for Winslow (and I did not like the rumored trade at the time).  I don't know the details of Winslow's injury but what I saw in Winslow the few time I saw him play, was a decent player trying to figure out the NBA.  He may still turn out to be good (assuming the injury is not something chronic).

I guess the OP was also trying to compare Winslow to Brown.  I think they are similarly valued prospects at this point.  Brown, being a #3 and younger, probably has more up side and perceived value but I put them in the same longer term ball park.

We got the LA Clippers '19 1st rounder for trading those early 2nd rounders to Memphis. It's heavily protected and could eventually turn out to be two 2nd rounders as well.

The Memphis '19 1st rounder (also protected) the Celtics obtained by trading Jeff Green. It will be unprotected in 2021, so it might be very valuable.

Just for clarification  :).
