If they were worried about playing Saric and Simmons together, I would love to swap Bradley and Saric straight up.
The ideal offseason might be: draft Fultz, swap Bradley for Saric, sign Hayward, bring in Zizic.
I do like Saric a lot, but I'm not sold on his defensive potential. Maybe he gets there and was just overmatched. But I do think his numbers were a bit inflated due to his minutes volume.
Then again, I also think he's a gamer - he's tough and will compete. And with so many of our bigs heading off the books, maybe Saric is just the right guy to step in. A lineup of:
IT / Fultz
Smart / Jaylen
Hayward / Jae
Saric
Horford
Doesn't offer much in terms of rim protection or rebounding, but it could be a beautiful offense.
EDIT: I guess we start Smart at the 2 and not Hayward (if we get him)? Or Fultz? Still some question marks there.
I'd start Hayward at 2 with Crowder at 3 and Saric at 4. I think they can hold their own at those positions and switch all over. Throw in Jaylen off the bench covering the 2 and 3 (and sometimes 4) and that's quite the rotation. Small but highly skilled.
