Sign Alex Len to 2 year $24m contract
I love this kid as an underachiever thus far but man does he had some meanness that we sorely lack in the paint. A 2 year trial allows us to see what he is made of.
Trade Avery Bradley for Pick #12 (Pistons)
Logjam of guards and unfortunately we need salary balance at other positions. Avery has earned a large contract and we have built redundancy into roster to allow him to get that while we replace him with an up and comer in Terry Rozier.
Draft Markelle Fultz (#1) and Harry Giles (#12)
Fultz is no-brainer. Harry Giles is a high risk super high reward guy.
New Team
PG: Isaiah Thomas / Markelle Fultz
SG: Marcus Smart / Terry Rozier
SF: Jaylen Brown / Abdel Nader
PF: Jae Crowder / Harry Giles / Guerschon Yabusele
C: Al Horford / Alex Len / Ante Zizic
I think your roster is a little off there. Let me help you.
PG: PG: Isaiah Thomas / Markelle Fultz / Marcus Smart / Rozier
SG: Jaylen Brown / Markelle Fultz / Marcus Smart / Rozier
SF: Jae Crowder / Jaylen Brown / Abdel Nader
PF: Al Horford / Jae Crowder / Yabu / Giles
C: Alex Len / Ante Zizic / Al Horford / Giles
Truthfully that's not horrible. I don't think Len is all that and a bag of chips but he does offer some potential. The Cs could go small with good offense with IT, Fultz, Brown, Jae and Horford or big with Fultz, Brown, Crowder, Horford and Len. Guys like Giles, Yabu, Zizic and Nader all create physical mismatches with other teams. Smart is a gadfly and should work well with either Fultz or IT. When/if Fultz and/or Brown blossoms, they take over more of a starting role. Brown will be more of a natural SF later in his career anyway.
It's not the worst idea I've heard once you get the starting rosters correct.
Guys...Avery Bradley makes $8M a year, you can't just trade him for a pick.
You can if the other team has $8m in cap space.
