It's not as bad of a package as I thought as we retain Brooklyn '18 but we would still require long term commitment from PG13.

Thoughts?

I don't really see how this makes the C's legit contenders though. They'll still be a top 3 team in the East but I still don't think it makes them better than CLE and still no close to GS.

I'd rather sign Hayward and draft Fultz.

With the recent analysis of the luxury tax that has been going around you have to be very sure of this core to invest in it like this would imply. Not sure I'm there at the moment.

The author of this article showed a shallow understanding of asset and draft talent values.

I've proposed trading Fultz for George before, but no way I do it at the draft and no way I take back Jefferson.  The point of acquiring George is after Hayward, Griffin, or Millsap signs in free agency.  You then add George to the team at that point to make the team a real contender.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

The author is an idiot. Clickbait, nothing more.

Too much to pay (Clips 19 pick could be pretty good) and there's no way we're moving #1 for a guy who has one year left on his contract. It's an absolute deal-killer and the kind of decision that costs a GM his job if it doesn't pan out. Think of it this way because this will also go through Danny's mind - if we did a deal like this and PG13 left for the Lakers next year it would go down as one of the all-time blunders in GM history. No one wants to be on that list.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

agreed.

Add an all-star level SF as well as a young player that could contribute at least at Jaylen's level next year and possibly even more.  could possibly free up AB and Crowder for a deal to get a good big man to put next to Al.

It is a stupid trade proposition giving way too much for a 1 year rental and he has us trading Amir Johnson like it's something to get off the books who will be a UFA. Stupid.

Trading the number one pick for one year of Paul George would be phenomenally stupid.

Forgrave is the same idiot that suggested we take Tatum at #1. Clicking on anything written by him makes me feel dirty.

Edit: He considers Al Jefferson a positive asset! This is not something I'd usually say, but this man should be fired.

Contingent on verbal agreement to resign, #1, a future 1st, and all our 2nds for PG13 and Big Al? You have to do that every time. Literally lose no personnel and add those 2? I think you have to.

In fairness to the author, he did make this disclaimer:

So for this mock draft, I'm taking a different route than your typical mock draft. What if NBA teams get insanely trade-happy on June 22, and tons of draft-night trades throw off even the best-laid of our mock-draft plans?

Do we know how much cap space / exception(?) we would have to add to the frontcourt in the event we sign Hayward?
