With these 4 as your core for the next 2-3 years... Can it beat the Cavs, GSW, Spurs?

No Fultz in the picture

Say its sign Hayward

Jae, Zeller,#1 , Bos 18  for George

I believe we still have to move AB in this scenario

Say we move him for a Draft pick around 15 in this or next years draft.

It.                  Rozier
Smart.            Green (vet min)
Hayward.       Jaylen.                  Nadar
George.          Jerebko
Horford.           Zicic

Brk 18, whatever you get for Bradley, hopefully a young big man. And Yabu on the roster in 2018.

I will say this, Paul george would at least have the length to slow down Durant . IT could make Curry work hard on defense, Hayward and Thompson cancel each other out. Horford and Green are pretty equal too.

They would be pretty maxed out , while we have Jaylen and another likely top 5 pick coming off the bench with Rosier , Yabu, Zicic and the rest of our picks and ring chasers.

Plus Iggy it is getting up there in age

I like our chances

I'd much rather have our young assets than a 2-3 window, and no, that team wouldn't beat GSW, nor likely CLE either.

The BRK picks present a unique opportunity to build a long-term contender. I'd much rather have them than a core that would still lack an elite defender and rebounder.

Regardless, it's irrelevant, Wyc and the rest of the Celtic ownership group aren't paying the $50+ million luxury tax that comes with the roster you're trying to build.

You know that GSW core are still very young

lifespan could be 5-7 years

Could a team of Fultz, Brown and 2018 pick be able to contend for a championship in 3 years? Or do you have the best chance with Horford, pg13, hayward, IT4 now?

Contend? Define Contend. I think they could get past Cleveland a few times over the next 3-5 years. Basically a pick um. However, I don't see them competing with GS over that span at all. GS has a better player at all 4 spots. IT < Curry, Klay > Hayward, PG13 < Durant, and Draymond > Horford.

Also, all of our players would be on maxes, while some of the warriors have come out saying that they will take less than the max. So basically, they beat us at all 4 positions, and have more room to get help.

Same for Butler. To me he is a worse PG13, so the above logic still applies.

The harsh reality is, we don't have a great player on a good deal. We have IT who at 6 mil currently is a steal. But that disappears after next year.

Why not?

Who covers Kyrie and Lebron?

Who covers Durant and Curry? Green?

Yes..except Hayward is better than Klay imo

And Horford better offensively than Green

Danny would have to add an enforcer...to grab rebounds/protect the rim

That's going to be tough to do with all the cap space going towards those four (PG, Hayward, IT, Horford).

Contend, yes. But not sure they can win. IT4 is just too much of a defensive liability that when it's crunch time and game is close you know where the other team is going to look to start their set. There's just too many good shooters and passers on the other teams to help IT4 without leaving someone wide open, whether its outside, cutting to hoop or wide open under the hoop.
If you put Smart in for IT4 in offense/defense substitutions in the last minute then you'd have a better chance to win the game.

I don't think GSW will keep their core together that long, they'll want to make max $$ eventually.

Doesn't change that what you're suggesting isn't an elite team even if GSW didn't even exist. There's no real rebounder, no lock down defender, and a salary cap that is destroyed by 4 max contracts.

On top of that, Ainge - from his own mouth - said there was a transcendent player in this draft, and there's a very good possibility we get one of the best big men prospects in years in the '18 draft. He thinks he can get a transcendent player,  but should give up the pick for a guy who, while a nice player, isn't even 3rd team all-NBA?

I'd much rather take my shot with Fultz and BRK 18 and Brown than trying to build around 2 very flawed players in IT and Horford. It's beyond my understanding why anyone would surrender that for a short-term window with a sliver of a chance to win a title.

Gotta hand it to Triboy, he bleeds green.

IMO not enough size to the picture you paint, and not enough defense.
