Well, that was uneventful.  Hope it ends in a sweep, quick and dirty. 

How are TV ratings so high with a 2-team (realistically, 1-team) league?  I can't imagine it's true fans of the game that are tuning in to watch the NBA these days.

You are gonna get almost all the big NBA fans no matter what. This is a huge draw for casual fans.

People want to witness greatness. They are getting it. This Warriors team is unbelievable.

unfortunately kevin love and Kevin Durant passed on the C's so it's not as simple as that

Durant is unbelievable. Best player on the floor easily

Makes the weakest move in sports history by joining an established superteam to make them even better - the same superteam that knocked him out of last years playoffs.  Now he looks like the Finals MVP on a team likely to win the championship.

Sad that his weakness is being so highly rewarded.

Yep. The only consolation is that it's going to come at Lebron's expense, so there's at least that.

I dunno, maybe ask the millions who tune into La Liga and Bundesliga matches?  Your typical basketball fan is very similar to a soccer fan in terms of bandwagoning tendencies, and most of the top soccer leagues around the world are 2 (or even 1)-cart races.

Tall guys with skills and toughness. Height alone won't get us anywhere.

Which is kind of a microcosm of how the world in general works.  The rich dominate - and everyone else fights for the scraps.

People want to witness greatness. They are getting it. This Warriors team is unbelievable.

Their basketball is a thing of beauty, no doubt.  And I'm glad they're winning handily.  I also don't blame them for how the team was built pre-KD.  But 28.5 other fanbases don't even have a glimmer of hope.  Sad state of affairs.  I guess I'm personally bitter and hopeful that their audience shrinks in order for the next CBA to address this lack of parity.

I didn't want to see GSW rewarded with winning a championship, but I would rather just see a sweep at this point.

First, it limits the amount of money the NBA will make.

Second, it should really help Danny pick a direction. We got trounced by Cleveland; if Cleveland then gets trounced by GSW, it will show how far away we really are. I still absolutely want to sign Hayward, but hopefully this will end talk of going forall-in for win-now mode by using BKN picks and Jaylen. It is probably better to give it a couple of years and wait this one out.

Yup it's a good consolation prize, but Durant effectively ruined the NBA landscape for the immediate future.  I'd imagine the NBA will suffer financially for this.  Good.  That will urge them to prevent such formation of superteams and help teams hang on to their star players.

LeBron can't be defending Durant the rest of the series if they want to get back to this.

Game 3, they have to bring Tristan Thompson to the bench, and start Kyle Korver, and put LeBron at the 4. He conserves energy by then, it opens up the floor more and gives them more weapons offensively.

Sure, JR Smith or Korver will stop KD, but if LeBron can't, does it really matter? Battle fire with fire at this point.
