Length is important too.

Thomas Bryant...if I am being really optimistic.
Yep, that's a nice pick as well. Extremely long, good shooter, not overly athletic though -> can't guard the pick n roll/pick n pop.
Completely agree.
His vert measurements were not bad but there really is a difference between athletic and basketball athletic. The dude just does not show as much bounce as I thought he could have had after possibly improving on his freshman season.

Trying to nail the "all star steal" in the later rounds of the draft.. heck, just find me a "Malcolm Brogden" and i'll be satisfied

It's pretty much impossible, but my logic to find these type of players
-Junior or Senior
-Steadily improved each year of his college career
-Was a primary scoring/playmaking option for his school
-Developed a new standout skill during his college years
-Successful Team
-NBA size and especially strength

The primary guy in this year's draft that fits this mold for me is Dillon Brooks
-Junior or Senior
Entering his Senior year
-Steadily improved each year of his college career
Increased his per-40 scoring from 16.2, 20.4, 25.5 each year.
-Was a primary scoring/playmaking option for his school
See above
-Developed a new standout skill during his college years
3pt% increased steadily each year, ending at over 40% on 6 attempts
-Successful Team
Oregon was pac12 regular season champ and made the Final Four
-NBA size and especially strength
6'6 and 220lbs. Built like a Tank

That's my pick. who's yours?
6 3pt attempts all season isn't impressive.
Excuse me, but 40 percent of 6 is 2.4.  I am curious how he made that number of 3 point shots.

I think those stats are correct on Brooks, great/clutch shooter, the main weakness with him is he is a below average athlete with a negative wingspan...there has been plenty of great players with one of those weaknesses but not both especially as a wing.
Thank you, but my questions was how anyone could make 2.4 shots?

Just look up his stats.

People here seem to think he made an average of 2.4 out of 6 threes attempted per game.

A google search reveals the correct numbers.

He is a rim-protecting center who can stretch the floor. That's a rare combo of skills. If he were a bit more athletic, I bet he would have been considered a lotto pick.

My award-winning sleepers  ;)

The Jae Crowder award goes to Semi Ojeleye

The Jimmy Butler award goes to OG Anunoby

The Draymond Green award goes to Caleb Swanigan Jonathan Motley

The IT award goes to Frank Mason

The Rodney Hood award goes to Sindarius Thornwell

I think Biggie Swanigan is going to go first round and is generally expected to be a quality NBA PF, so I'm giving Motley some props because I think he is flying under the radar and was only slightly less productive than Biggie.

If we do draft Swanigan, he needs to wear # 88 and have "Biggie Swanigan" on the back.  8)

Nigel Hayes from Wisconsin is my pick

TP, beat me to it.  Love that guy and I'd take him in the first round if I could with, say, the 28th pick.

He may well go undrafted.  Probably should've left after his Junior year.

If I had to guess, Ainge is watching clips of Donovan Mitchell right now.

The worst statistical year of his career to that point?  Probably not the best move, lol ;D. I know that the Celtics brought him in for a workout last year, and I was honestly hoping that they would have convinced him to stay in the draft so that we could have taken him with one of our second rounders, primarily because I was concerned that he would have a bounce back senior season, which is what happened.  Doh! ;D

And ahh, yes, Donovan Mitchell, yet another combo guard from Louisville.  Great (sarcasm) ::).

It's a average over the course of a season. If he played 5 games and shot 6 threes per game he could make 2,2,2,3,3 and that would average to 2.4 per game.

Thanks everyone for the responses! Had to go offline so i couldnt engage as much as i wanted.

Just to clarify, Dillon Brooks shot 40% 3pters on 4.1 attempts per game. I mistakenly posted his per-40 attempts!

Idk about Hayes. Looks like his shooting percentages increased some, but still underwhelming offensively. Tough fit for current NBA. Gotta jack 3s and maybe play some defense. If the mood strikes.. :D

Physically he's always been ready, but his physical talents are his only pluses. He hasnt done anything to show he's made full use of his ability. Low potential, and on a disappointing team during his tenure there.
For those that follow college basketball, he's basically a better version of Marcus Dove. Which still isnt saying much.
