Guess the enthusiasm may be even lower than I would have guessed. I really wish the league had a way to fix this. Also if the matchup is the same next finals I will be done with the NBA for a while. Sports without intrigue are awful
what did yourself expect from a Celtics fan blog.

The ratings will be very good especially if the games are close and it is a long series
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

There were other matchups people on this board were very excited about that didn't include the Celtics. I definitely remember people being very into the Spurs Heat Finals on here. That was a pretty classic matchup with a lot of likable players involved. I am guessing the fact that Durant did his cowardly move of going to the Warriors, Green has become very unlikeable, Lebron has come off as extra whiny this year and it is the 3rd straight year of this matchup all really tamper the enthusiasm. I actually will be pretty interested in if the ratings are higher than last year for this. I have heard a number of people that watch it most years saying they won't bother this year, or may watch 1 game (mind you this is in the bay area). Obviously it is not scientific, but i have been surprised how many people seem over the matchup. I will watch game 1 out of curiosity myself.

I'm pretty lazy these days about watching games that don't involve the Cs. I will stream on my computer perhaps while doing other things.

I can't explain how disinterested I am in these finals.

It must be how non-Patriots fans feel, but at least they actually have a chance of losing due to the one and done nature of the NFL Playoffs (and often do). Actually, I will equate the Pats to the Spurs and equate this NBA championship match-up to:

Note: I have spent my whole life watching a ridiculous amount of basketball (focus on the Cs of course). I may just be getting old, but this sucks!

There is a Finals series going on?

Did it start yet?

Who won?

(See where I'm going with this?)

I'm pretty interested.  Rubber match of GSW/CLE (which might keep going) and lots of star power.  Both teams are rolling right now and you could see this collision course coming since the start of the season.   You finally have Durant back in the Finals so it'll be fun to watch him on this stage again.  Once again, LBJ's legacy will be discussed and the result of this series will certainly impact, one way or another, how he perceived by lots of people.

A lot going on with this series.  I'm looking forward to it.

I have avoided Golden State games all season, as to not feel responsible to contributing to any ratings that network had for airing Warriors games. I may watch the Finals because I believe LeBron and the Cavs will beat the Warriors again and I just want to see LeBron destroy and embarrass Durant on the biggest stage. Then I want to hear LeBron say after the Finals, that the Warriors can resurrect Wilt Chamberlin next season, and his team will still beat them in the Finals (as a  slap in the face to Durant for calling out two teams in his response to not being responsible for the league's lack of parity).

I don't recall a team going from darlings of the league to hated in such a short time frame as the Warriors. Klay Thompson may be the only likeable player of the team, since he seems to be their only player to put the team ahead of individual success/glory.

I will definitely not be seeing all of game 1, as my son and I have reserved seating to see Wonder Woman in IMAX at 7pm. I have been excited to see this ever since her Wonder Woman reveal in Batman V Superman.

I might have to put Wonder Woman over the NBA finals as well, which is something I didn’t think I’d ever say.
CB Mock Deadline - Minnesota Timberwolves
Kemba Walker / Tyus Jones / Aaron Brooks
Jimmy Butler / Jamal Crawford / Treveon Graham
Rodney Hood / Nic Batum / Marcus Georges Hunt
Taj Gibson / Nemanja Bjelica / Jonas Jerebko
KAT / Derrick Favors / Cole Aldrich
Picks - 2018 CHA 1st (Lotto protected), none out

I really hope this series is a classic. I hope LeBron shows up and declares to the world, "I am the greatest to ever play, and I'm going to show you." However, I fear the Warriors will make quick work of yet another foe; we've never seen anything quite like this Warriors team before.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

No way in heck the league lets this series go less than 6, and probably does all it can to make it 7.

I just read that aloud. Weird, but yeah.

I was a little excited about the matchup, but seriously the week+ off between rounds has made me forget about the NBA a bit.

Yup

Has a team had a more pathetic path to the Finals than Golden State? Who knows what would have happened against San Antonio if they had a healthy Parker and Leonard. The Warriors were down 25 at home until the cheap shot against Leonard.
