Its so silly.....

The guy himself retweeted a PP tweet that said the C's should trade #1 pick for help.

At the all star break he said he was most excited to see IT
Quote
Michael Pina @MichaelVPina

Interviewer: "Name one player you're most excited to see this weekend."

Paul George: "Isaiah."

And here's another quote on how he wants to win, not put up empty stats

Quote
“As I told Larry, I always want to play on a winning team. I always want to be part of a team that has a chance to win it [all]. That’s important,” George told ESPN Radio. “Say what you want; I want to compete for something. It’s frustrating just playing the game for stats or for numbers or to showcase yourself. Man, I want a chance to play for a chance to win a championship.”

How anyone can believes he leaves a roster of Hayward, Jaylen, IT, Horford, and all our younger players and picks for the Lakers in total rebuild mode is beyond me.

He clearly has given hints the C's are a team he would have interest in joining.

This narrative that he is automatically going to LA is so strange to me.

He is from LA (natural Celtics hater)...IT4 said it was the same way at his household

If celts traded him and team makes the ecf I think he will resign...but also just as easily jet to the Lakers

Too risky without a guarantee he will sign an extension

Every time someone says he's going to LA I say the same thing, "when someone actually goes to LA I'll start believing it's a destination again, until then it's just the media creating stories."

Besides being from LA it is a team that covets him and the whole glitz and glamour thing and other opportunities. Watch the Jimmy Kimmel show with PG on it. Then watch the Kimmel show with Magic on it taking about PG. George talks about his hero being "Kobe". Now what would make anyone think he might prefer to go to their longtime rivals? It's not like Pierce who was drafted by us and had to play here and grew to love the team and the city. PG would only have one year which I don't think would be enough time for him to convert.

Too risky to give up anything for him.

I think based on his comments about the Lakers, most teams would be justified in being gunshy about trading for him.  if he's open to going to a contender, he should put out a statement saying that if he were traded to a team he considers a contender he'd be open to (or likely to ) sign an extension.

If he'd sign an extension, I'm sure Danny could work out a trade deal for him that hopefully wouldn't drain us of most of our assets.

I generally agree with the OP.

The Lakers are just awful right now and have long term money tied up in Mozgov and Deng. I mean, really, right? They also have no pick next year.

They have some nice young players, but nobody elite. I suppose Ingram, Russell, or Ball could eventually reach all-star status, but there are a lot of 'ifs' tied into the future of that team. I have no idea why George would want to take a chance on the last of his prime years in joining a team just because he liked them as a kid. Shaq and Kobe are not walking through that door, folks.

Would I trade this year's pick for him? No, but if we could assemble a package of players (Avery, Crowder) and non-BKN picks while also picking up Hayward, then I would probably go for it. This would also likely mean letting KO walk, but maybe we could convince George that playing PF is really fun.

Everyone thought De Rozan would sign with Lakers and he thumbed his nose. If the Lakers continue to struggle next season, would not expect George to sign with them.

PG13 is a bigger name than derozan

If pg13 goes to the lakers...even if lakers have to give up a ton get him... FAs will start flocking to LA

This is why Marc Spears thinks LA should do the trade asap... So that once pg13 is a FA , he can get max

If you let him think about it once he is a FA..another championship team can sway him to join

Absolutely. A five-year max is LAL's only hope.

And if the #2 pick was part of the package (one would think it would have to be), a great side advantage would be Ball getting drafted by Indiana. Take that Lavar!

Wouldn't that be poetic justice for the father/son combination, who are only interested in the Lakers...and then to have the Lakers trade him away to The Middle of the country.

Oh the irony if it should happen! :)

Retweeting a tweet and saying he likes Isaiah Thomas doesn't mean he wants to sign with and spend the next 5 years of his life in the city.

Literally everyone around the league and every report seemingly leaked from his camp says he wants to sign with the Lakers. If you want to believe a retweet but don't want to believe the reports that's your business.

PG's shoes are fire though for 110 usd, I'm thinking of buying the XDR outsole version of it.
