I love PG's game, and IMO, he's the 2nd best player in the EC.
But he's not elite. He's not Kawhi, Lebron, Durant, etc. He can't carry us past Cleveland. We still would need another star. Which is why there's no way I'd give up a BRK pick for him.
He's got one year left on his deal. He has limited value now. Plus, as Wyc said a few days ago, it's a big deal to surrender a rookie who you could have at a (relatively) low salary, vs. a guy like PG getting the max.
OP is probably right, he wouldn't leave a contending Boston team for a struggling LA team, but you can't risk an asset like a BRK 1 based on that assumption.
If a great deal for PG comes our way, great, especially if we can't get Hayward. But if not, we're on the right path, sit tight, take the young talent like Fultz.
