David Blatt needed to win. His role for Zizic was on offensive boards to clean up misses and make as few mistakes as possible.
His teammates didn't yet trust him on pick rolls. Many times he was open in paint and they took contested shots
All season,he took zero 3 point shots but is a good foul shooter,he only took a few mid range and didn't look bad.How he fits today's NBA is depending on his developing a mid range and an occasional three.
If Brook Lopez at his age can and Al Horford did but it will take time.
Is Nerlens Noel, O'Quinn,Brook Lopez available
We desperately need help up front.

KG did not shoot threes either  :P

zizic rolls to the rim nicely FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN IN LIMITED video. he can be a solid backup

maybe eventually a double double guy. let's give him and CBS a chance before we throw him under the bus and label him as FAB MELO V2.0 ok ??

Why not? Zizic is good

Only things questionable are passing and long range shooting capabilities

He can defend out to the perimeter

And if we have him I bet he can make Tritant Thompson sweat

Zizic may be able to fill a role. We need a guy in the frontcourt who can block a few shots, commit the occasional hard foul, and rebound. We need toughness. We have the league's softest big men (apart from NJ). KO gave us one of the better shooting big men in the league, but he's so slow and soft Zizic could quickly be a better defender and rebounder than KO ever was.

He's probably not ready to drain open 3s and replicate Al's game, but there's a good chance for Zizic to fill a much needed role once he gets some experience.

sure, and i am not even worried about 3's. if he can hit midrange jays like KG and Tim Duncan we will be fine. 3's can come later. we need rebounds and points in paint to help outside game.

I never meant that as throwing him under bus ... therefore the yet in heading I have followed Zizic all year long and love his motor  and offensive rebounding-he is 20 and this is the NBA..
The celts have a glaring problem up front and need to address that
.Zizic could be shooting threes at practice  but not in games as this was not an instructional league.
As i stated jerebko,Zeller,Johnson and even Kelly could be gone

He is going to be a rookie.   He should be treated as a rookie, not a key big man cog until he earns that spot.

We will most likely be trading a guard this offseason for a PF/C so it's ok.

Yabusele and Zicic won't be expected to be major factors from day 1.

It is too much to ask for a foreign 20 y/o rookie to be the answer to all of our frontcourt needs. I think he could help us by taking over Amir minutes. AJ can't secure rebounds anymore and Žižić does that at a high level. We also need a banger and Ante is that.

I see Zizic getting back up minutes as 3rd string center. 2nd string will either be FA or trade. Zizic with a year's experience can become back up. If he develops range he could eventually either be starter or back up with a lot of minutes.

Zizic is our answer for a backup big that can bang inside. He's a pretty good answer as well.

You know he's better than nba 3rd string centers who play in the euroleague right? HE LED HIS TEAM TO A WIN OVER THE BEST NON NBA TEAM IN THE WORLD. He's going to be a perfectly acceptable 2nd string center to me.

I think he will get 15mpg but your argument is extremely weak .....
A great game makes him immediately 2nd tier center in the NBA? Doncic must be the next Lebron then!

I see Zizic at worst as the back up center we've been waiting for and. At best as a Boget type starter.  We have to make decisions on 4 big men and right now I think only KO may come back.  My guess is that we don't acquire a center in free agency send we try and start KO, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Zizic starting from day 1.  I know he's completely unproven but based on what I've seen and who the other options are I'd say he has a good shot at the starting job.

Really who else should start a center?  Ko, Mickey? Unless we sign someone we won't have any other options.
