George would be our best player with IT and Horford. Watching Horford get dominated by love and IT have a subpar game just makes me think we got punched in the mouth game one. AB had the best game out of anyone.
I don't think George is necessarily a lebron beater either. Being here we are gaining recognition from stars around the league though which is good.
We know he isn't. LeBron practically averaged a TD with 33 PPG against the Pacers round 1 in an epic sweep. He destroyed PG..
I mean, PG did average 28 pts, 8.8 rbs, and 7.3 in that series... He might not be a "Lebron beater" but he's at least capable of inflicting damage of his own.
LeBron is simply transcendent at this point in his career. He's on a completely different level. He's like Bird in '86. There's no beating him period. When a team has an ATG at the peak of his powers, trying to beat him by collecting lesser stars is simply foolhardy. At that point the only thing to do is keep building for when that player slows down or suffers an injury. Pistons had to wait until the C's got old before they could have their shot.
This continues to be the silliest argument I hear regarding trying to improve this team now. "X and Y are just too good, wait till they're done."
Lebron could very well reign over the Eastern Conference for the next 5 years, he could blow out his knee next week. And when what happens when while we're waiting for Lebron and the Jamettes to fall off, another super team grows and gets their first? Do we defer again for another 5 years?
And while I think Cleveland is a fantastic team, I don't think they're unbeatable. They legitimately have no worthy challengers. The closest was supposed to be Toronto, but their offense is so predictable that always seemed like a long shot.
I think we should put together the best team possible, play hard and be opportunistic.
