Fultz comparisons

I see Cp3, Brandon Roy, Harden type.

Didn't see any of his games live, are these good comparisons?

Harden is the closest one, due to the combination of elite scoring and distribution. However, Markelle uses his size, length, and athleticism to get shots off over defenders. Markelle is probably more likely to shoot over his defender than mercilessly attack the rim like Harden. So, it's an imperfect comparison, but probably the closest one I can think of. Roy is an interesting one as well, but I'd have to reacquaint myself with his game to adequately evaluate that one.

He's more of a scorer than CP. Frankly, being 6'5 with a 6'10 wingspan makes him so unique at the 1. His size and length combined with his skill just allows him to do whatever he wants on offense.

I don't see the CP3 comparisons. Paul couldn't score like that and I think Fultz is a better athlete.

You know Westbrook's vertical in college was 36.5 with a no-step of 30? Those are good but not super numbers and I think Fultz would match either of those. I really don't see Fultz being less athletic than Westbrook - at least coming out of college. Of course Westbrook has developed into more than he was.

Looks like Brandon Roy or perhaps the older version of Ray Allen to me.

I think that being classified as a PG is largely a misnomer stemming from the fact that he handles the ball a lot and is perhaps slightly smaller than the prototypical scoring guard. To me, he has NBA SG written all over him.

Physically, Fultz measures out similar to Dwyane Wade.  Here are their pre-draft measurements:

Wade (NBA combine):  6' 4.75" w/shoes, 6' 10.75" wingspan, 212 lb, 8' 6" standing reach
Fultz (Nike Hoop Summit):  6' 4.75" w/shoes, 6' 9" wingspan, 186 lb, 8' 6" standing reach

Some reports have indicated that Fultz' wingspan may now be over 6' 10", but I don't have a measurement that shows that.  The Hoop Summit was quite a while ago and he very likely could have grown since then so it wouldn't surprise me.    Obviously, he's not built like quite the bull that Wade was, but could probably pack on more muscle as he grows.  He's only 18 after all.  Wade was 21 years old when drafted.

Game-wise, Fultz' offensive skill-set is basically similar to James Harden or Isaiah Thomas.  He can score from all ranges on the court and in a variety of ways.  His body control is elite and freakish.  Beautiful form on his jumper.  Can shoot from range, drive and pull-up, drive to the hoop, drive to get fouls.  All of his offensive weapons project to the NBA.

I agree with this. Offensively, he does remind me of a taller, slower, and slightly less shifty Isaiah Thomas. Which is quite remarkable for a 18-year-old
