I have to Iaugh at the people who think Avery is out. Bradley is 2x the player Smart is, and Fultz won't be able to lace his sneakers for awhile. You move Bradley and go with Smart and a rookie and the present takes a big hit. Avery saved our season with huge games on multiple nights, while defending an elite player. No one can replace that outside of Klay or Butler.
I like AB. I really do. But to say no one can replace him except Klay or Butler is idiotic. Bradley has a year left on his deal and is due for a big pay raise. You can't afford everyone. He'd fetch a solid big and some cap space to be able to sign Hayward as well.

If you think we can move Bradley and his game on both ends of the floor for a solid big and not take a big hit, you're crazy. Smart is a black hole on offense, and Fultz will be a rookie. We will be a leader team in this scenario. Bradley is huge for us.
Bradley will be a loss but the reality is they won't be able to pay everyone. Smart is more than a capable defender. And you have to consider the continued development of Rozier/Brown and the #1 pick as well.

If anyone gets squeezed it's Jae.

AB is practically the captain of this team.

Mike Gorman ask what the c's need

Danny say shot creaters/scorers that can score at the end of the game. Sounds like Fultz to me. Hayward too.

You guys realize this is basically an admission Smart is a bust right?

Drafting Fultz means Smart can take a seat.

It's also an admission Avery is probably on the way out

I love how you can turn absolutely any topic into a Smart hatefest.

He will also be making 2-3x the salary Crowder is on his next contract. Also we need beef and size at SF to guard Lebron. We have Smart and Rosier to take the defensive role AB plays for us.

There's a BIG gap between being a bust and simply not attaining the full potential.

Smart is an incredible useful player and a good contributor. A far cry from being a bust.

Boy the threads on here when the losses piled up and everybody realized AB is a key piece. People won't care until they see the effect.

Fultz is a generational talent.
Should be our starting guard for the next 12 years.
Imagine Fultz on the first day of training camp being guarded by Bradley and Smart.
That will be a rude awakening.

I think that it is far from certain that Bradley will be moved.  DA still likes Avery a lot.

Someone's got to go.

It could be IT.
Fultz makes him expendable.

At the point just blow the whole team up. Move a 30 point scorer and All NBA guy, and this team as constructed is trash. Even if you move IT for Butler, the drop from IT to Fultz in the present kills us.

Moving a guy with a 53 point playoff game, and 29/12 game 7 win would be crazy.

And he can't defend.
I would probably keep him through next year, and then let someone else overpay him.
Little guys don't last very long. It's a brutal game for them.

If you sign Hayward, you trade Bradley. If you don't sign Hayward you trade either Smart or Bradley.
