It.            Fultz
Ab.        Smart
Hayward. Jaylen
Trade.      Yabu
Horford.    Zicic

Use Crowder/AB/smart picks combo to upgrade at PF

If Celts pick Fultz

Zizic
Horford
Hayward
AB
IT4

KO
Crowder
Brown
Smart
Rozier

Yabu
Nader
Fultz
This can't happen financially unless Hayward is taking substantially less than the max, which isn't happening

It can happen as IT4 and AB can be signed the year after (or they prefer to do so)

At that point financially it can't work

But for one season...you can stack it hard to try to win a championship
You're wrong triboy. You need to brush up on your CBA knwledge and take a look at the Celtics salary cap situation. What you are suggesting can not happen without Hatward taking a very low contract. Fultz' and KO's cap holds as well as Zizic and Yabu cap holds use up too much cap space to sign Hayward.

Not lying to you here triboy. You can't do it. And go read Coon's CBAFAQ site and then get a good site that shows team payrolls with all the cap holds available. You'll find out this can't happen as well as learn a lot about the business side of the game.

I've been telling him it's impossible for months.  It's just shouting into the wind.

what did you say??

again there are workarounds...  its not mandatory to sign yabu, zizic when you can bring in a talent like Hayward...you can shed other salaries

I'm not pro or against Danny signing Hayward... but if he wants to...

Saltlover (and others) aren't saying that it's not possible based on 2 minutes of looking or just guesswork. A lot of posters (especially saltlover) have put in significant time looking into rule changes, lottery slots, possible roster moves and a lot more to come to these conclusions. I for one have a spreadsheet on my computer that details this stuff, and I know I'm not the only one.

They're not telling you it's impossible based on wanting it to be: they've done their research and know it. Do some research yourself, or at least accept that your 30 seconds of thought about it are not bringing up possibilities that others have already considered and rejected.

Frankly, the refusal to listen to saltlover, who has a better grasp on the CBA than anyone else here, and instead bring up basic things like no one else was smart enough to think of them, is just insulting.
I'm bitter.

You are sort of contradicting yourself...

again ... I said there are likely workarounds.... some of these posters like Nick state its not possible (because you need to sign yabu, zizic etc)

But like you stated it is possible if xyz actions are done prior to the signing

A possibility to make it work vs making Hayward happy monetary wise are two different things

I guess if Hayward signs for a very low contract (vs what he'll get in Utah), we can try construct the team you originally posted.

I don't think Yabusele is ready to play NBA minutes next year. I expect him to be the 3rd string PF and not make the rotation until his 2nd season.

From what I have seen of him, his defense simply isn't good enough to get on the court regularly at this stage in his career. He needs to improve his fundamentals and team defense before be ready for NBA basketball.

So I think the Celtics will need someone else at backup PF ahead of Yabu next year.

Bradley, Rozier, Crowder and BKN18

To the 76ers

For Okafor and the #3 pick (Tatum)

76ers need guard help and good culture guys. Celtics need to solve a logjam.

I agree that it's not wise to expect too much from Yabusele or Zizic next year. Or, it's not wise to to make moves with the intention that they will be totally ready for a team that has playoff aspirations. That being said, they have been playing in pro leagues and should be more ready to contribute than a typical one-and-doner, so there's a chance they could crack the rotation at some point in the season. I mean, Jaylen Brown is actually playing minutes for this team in playoff games now. Is that ideal? Probably not, but he doesn't look totally out of place all the time which is a minor positive in my book.
