Great news, because the top pick is gold. Danny can take Fultz or trade him for Butler. The Bulls might jump at that. Or he can keep him and sign a FA. Ainge is in heaven now. He has the cards. And he even might beat the Cavs and win the East, with home court.
C's might go after Butler but #1 should not be part of that deal.

I hate to see them trade any of their core players with the great chemistry they have. Guys like Olynyk and Rozier are increasing their tradeability in the playoffs. They have value.

With this our team is set for the present and future and there is no need for any trades. Draft Fultz. Make a play for Griffin, I prefer Hayward as a player but Griffin fills a bigger need and is still a legitimate all star and top 15 player... better than both Butler and Hayward.

I see some fans proposing us go after two max contract players... im against that approach because it isn't sustainable.

I wonder if the Pelicans would be open to ridding themselves of a big, for our 2018 Nets pick, and a player, for a center that may not sign back with them. Not naming names here.

Especially if we grabbed a Butler, Hayward or George to go with him.

Just thinking.

It.            Fultz
Ab.        Smart
Hayward. Jaylen
Trade.      Yabu
Horford.    Zicic

Use Crowder/AB/smart picks combo to upgrade at PF

If Celts pick Fultz

Zizic
Horford
Hayward
AB
IT4

KO
Crowder
Brown
Smart
Rozier

Yabu
Nader
Fultz
This can't happen financially unless Hayward is taking substantially less than the max, which isn't happening

It can happen as IT4 and AB can be signed the year after (or they prefer to do so)

At that point financially it can't work

But for one season...you can stack it hard to try to win a championship
You're wrong triboy. You need to brush up on your CBA knwledge and take a look at the Celtics salary cap situation. What you are suggesting can not happen without Hatward taking a very low contract. Fultz' and KO's cap holds as well as Zizic and Yabu cap holds use up too much cap space to sign Hayward.

Not lying to you here triboy. You can't do it. And go read Coon's CBAFAQ site and then get a good site that shows team payrolls with all the cap holds available. You'll find out this can't happen as well as learn a lot about the business side of the game.

Is the pick untouchable if NO calls about Anthony Davis?

No, but they won't.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

Leave Simmons & Wiggins off that list. I think Fultz has a higher ceiling than Simmons and Wiggins hasn't shown anything beyond being a scorer and his contract is coming due.

I believe you but its not mandatory that you need to sign Zizic, Yabu... can't you shed Zeller as well?

There could be a workaround..  Hayward may also need to take 5 million less than max

Either be stuck in Utah ... or come here to contend for a championship

This is going to be another fun summer with lots of roster movement and change. I think we'll see all three of a high draft pick, a significant trade, and a significant free agent signing.

Kind of doubt ALL 3 happens. I'd love for it too, but a significant trade may require 2017 BKN Pick.

And I think 2018 should be untouchable. TONS of bigs in that draft.

I'm considering an AB/Smart/Rozier trade significant. If we pick Fultz, one or more of AB, Smart, or Rozier will have to go, most likely for an upgrade in the big department.

I want to see Stevens throw out a five-guard lineup with Smart at the 5, just to make people's heads explode here.

what did you say??

again there are workarounds...  its not mandatory to sign yabu, zizic when you can bring in a talent like Hayward...you can shed other salaries

I'm not pro or against Danny signing Hayward... but if he wants to...

First of all, go do some research. You're not signing Hayward without renouncing KO's rights.

Secondly, when you suggest the Cs shouldn't sign a guy who would go in the top 12 in this draft (Zizic) then you really need to reassess your way of thinking.

I don't see a max FA coming.  Utah will find a way to keep Hayward, and I think Ainge passes on Blake et al.

Honestly I think they end up prioritizing klynyk for the sake of continuity.  He and Smart have developed such good chemistry together. The big who plays like a two, and the point who plays like a center --- they're Brad's favorite chess pieces!

I think he and Brad are really trying to do something unique here with their development style, growing the talent instead of just managing it.    The whole #itsnotluck campaign fits right into it.

I expect we do little more than draft Fultz & cut Young.  Perhaps move Jae for a future first or something so we can keep our younger wings together.

Thomas, Rozier
AB, Fultz
Brown, Smart
KO, Yabu, Nadar
Horford, Amir, Zizac
