This is going to be another fun summer with lots of roster movement and change. I think we'll see all three of a high draft pick, a significant trade, and a significant free agent signing.

Kind of doubt ALL 3 happens. I'd love for it too, but a significant trade may require 2017 BKN Pick.

And I think 2018 should be untouchable. TONS of bigs in that draft.

I'm considering an AB/Smart/Rozier trade significant. If we pick Fultz, one or more of AB, Smart, or Rozier will have to go, most likely for an upgrade in the big department.

That will be a HARD, TOUGH decision.

They've all grown on me in the postseason, even Rozier lol.

The options are immense.

Don't forget, Brooklyn will be no better next year, and we still have their 2018 pick.

yes and no... they are going to go crazy and offer RFAs money left and right imo

they might try to steal Smart and KO away from the Celts (and also for revenge)

Hoping our current roster doesn't read CB much.

This topic could be a chemistry killer for the group going to battle right now.

Not really a precedent for this type of thing ...

It.            Fultz
Ab.        Smart
Hayward. Jaylen
Trade.      Yabu
Horford.    Zicic

Use Crowder/AB/smart picks combo to upgrade at PF
Not enough cap space for #1 pick + max contract for Hayward + Zizic + Yabu.

Why not? They're currently at 72 million for next season. Minus Tyler Zeller's option at 8 million and they will be at 64. The cap is projected to be around 101 million. That's enough for #1 pick deal (about 6 million) and also Hayward (25 million roughly?), along with the two cheap deals for Yabusele and Zizic based on where they were drafted (let's say roughly around 3.5 million for both, based on what guys taken ahead of them got).

If they're short a few million, Mickey's deal is also unguaranteed. That would save them another 1.4 million.

Sign Hayward.

That is all.

That's the kind of post that deserves negative TPs.

We heard this same crap last offseason. Guess what? They just gave us the #1 overall pick.

What makes anyone think that Brooklyn is a more attractive FA destination or that teams will be more likely to give away their RFAs than this past year?
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

Great news, because the top pick is gold. Danny can take Fultz or trade him for Butler. The Bulls might jump at that. Or he can keep him and sign a FA. Ainge is in heaven now. He has the cards. And he even might beat the Cavs and win the East, with home court.

forget UFAs

but RFAS is the problem...they tried to steal away Crabbe and another player...but Portland put on the brakes

you think if Brooklyn offered KO and Smart 15-17 million a year ...Celtics can match that (with needing to keep space open for IT4, AB )

C's might go after Butler but #1 should not be part of that deal.

Yeah, but that's business. I've already mentally prepared myself for AB leaving, who I think is the most likely prospect to leave.

The Nets are going to steal away a player that isn't a free agent until next season?
I'm bitter.

butler is 27. he won't put us over the top by himself. how long could we keep him? all factors. I'd rather keep stocking up real young guys for a dominant future. grab a FA or trade somebody else. I would not trade this pick.
LET'S GO CELTICS!

I doubt it... He loves Boston and Danny thinks of him as a son

AB is 1990 born (feels like he has been around forever)

I think he will retire as a Celtic or close to

Danny made a better deal with the Russians than Trump could ever dream of.

The max contract for a 7-year vet (like Hayward) starts at 30% of the cap. That's 30.3 million.

There is not enough space for Fultz + Hayward + Zizic + Yabu + Bradley + Crowder. If we want Hayward + Zizic + Yabu, we have to trade Rozier + one more guaranteed contract for salary relief. Olynyk, Amir, Jerebko, Zeller, Young, Mickey and Jackson got to go as well.
