Say we could sign KO to a 3 yr/ 12 per .

You trade Crowder to a team that has cap space and take back some picks.

Would we then have enough to still sign a max, what other salary would have to be moved from the roster to clear enough cap space for a max in this situation?

I will give Crowder a chance to improve his playoff performance against Lebron.
And if u trade him who is your SF besides JB?

My understanding is that if we renounce everbody buy our first rounder, we will have between 28 and 30 mil of cap space.

If we want to keep KO's 7.7 mil cap hold and max someone, Wed need to clear at least 8 mil in cap space.

The most obvious way to do that would be by trading Avery Bradley  or some combo of Bradley Crowder and Smart.

If you can sign a max it would be Hayward. Then you have Jaylen, and possibly Jackson/Tatum depending on our pick

IT.       Rosier
AB.     Smart
Hayward    Jackson
Jaylen.        Ko
Horford.     Zicic

As much as Crowder is frustrating with his lack of BBIQ and disappearance at times, his contract makes him very, very valuable to us. He's almost unreadable if we want to add some other max level contracts. AB needs to be the one to be traded to either make room for a free agent signing or a trade, since we're not going to be able to realistically keep him AND IT next year.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

No -- Crowder much more valuable than Olynyk

Screw Hayward, over rated and over paid. Keep Crowder because he is good and cheap, and he can play the three or the four. Keep Brown because he can play the two or the three. Sign someone better than Olynyk and draft Fultz or Jackson.

No matter who we bring in, I'll just keep the more talented player, Crowder. I'm not going to overreact to one game. Hopefully, they will both be gone. Olynyk to clear cap space for Hayward or a longshot like Griffin. Crowder as part of a trade for George or Butler.

I've explained this a lot, and don't have the time to do it again, but Crowder doesn't make nearly enough to be the one to go in the event of signing a max and keeping Olynyk.  In fact, Olynyk doesn't even make enough on his own.  So the question is really moot.  Depending on the the lottery balls this evening, letting every free agent (except for KO) and non-guaranteed player go, and dumping Crowder, Jackson, and Rozier wouldn't be enough.

The choices are most likely Bradley+Jackson, or Olynyk+Rozier+Jackson, depending where we pick.

What about Zeller? Can we give a team a 2nd to take his contract. The player would have to have a team option or something.

Was resigning Zeller the undoing of our max FA possibility?

I thought Zeller signed a 1+1 deal with the second year being a team option? Was that Amir?

Knee jerk reaction: No way, you'd have to be crazy to make a move like that.

But when I think about it... The max in this scenario would have to be Hayward.  He becomes our staring SF and Crowder moves to the PF spot.  If you let Crowder go and keep Kelly, then you need to either sign someone to start at PF or start Zizic and move Al to the 4.  So, you end up with a choice between:

IT/Nets Pick
AB/Smart
Hayward/Jaylen
Crowder/FA
Horford/Zizic

OR

IT/Nets Pick
AB/Smart
Hayward/Jaylen
Horford/FA
Zizic/KO

Losing Crowder makes small ball nearly impossible in that second lineup, which would be a blow to our usual playstyle.  On the other hand, though, that first lineup would be playing small ball a lot (too much).  And as saltlover mentions, the money could be tough to work out (we'll know more tonight/tomorrow).  So I'll have to agree with jpotter and say that sending out AB makes way more sense in a deal like this (especially if we take a guard in the draft.  If we end up with a 3/4 like Tatum or Jackson, then shift Smart and Jaylen up a spot)

I love AB, but with his impending payday and Crowder's ridiculous contract I'd rather see him get dealt
I'm bitter.
