This week has the potential to be one of the best in franchise history.

Me either, I am bracing for 3 or 4 actually.  While, I hope otherwise, the powers of the NBA hate the Celtics.

OR it might be a kick in the nuts. Lose Monday and get the 4th pick on Tuesday.

I voted with my heart here - we beat the Wizards and get the first pick. I feel much more confident in beating the Wizards, though. A lot of people are already very suspicious of how the league handles the lottery, and if we don't get the first pick and the Lakers end up being able to keep theirs, I'll be even more convinced that this league is corrupt at the top (and often at our expense).

Also, to me, the lottery in general is much more nervewracking. For the game itself, there's at least a decent chance it turns into a convincing win/blowout for either team, meaning there isn't any suspense down the stretch. If we're on the wrong end of that, while it would definitely suck, at least you can gradually prepare yourself for what's happening over the course of the game.

On the other hand, the lottery is publicly revealed so quickly and with such finality and long term impact that it makes it a lot more stressful in my mind.

I'm a natural cynic when it comes to sports, so my inclination is to think Boston will lose Game 7 and get the No. 4 pick. But I'm going to try the positivity thing and pick a double win.

And if I end up being wrong about either or both, I'll remind all of the eternal optimists on CB why their optimism is annoying. ;D

Yup, this is where I'm at as well.   Reality is we have a 75% chance of not landing the first pick.  Better to keep expectations aligned with the probabilities.

As for game 7 - feeling pretty good about the Celtics chances.  They've outplayed the Wizards over the last couple games and the visiting team isn't very good on the road.  Expecting the Celtics bench & role players to bounce back at home.

I think they win and then get the 3rd or 4th pick. Josh Jackson or Tatum will be Boston bound ..I

After the year they had 2 of the top 5 chances to get Duncan and they did not..I am positive they do not get it again. Same with the KD draft. Boston does not get the rigged lottery like the Cavs do

I don't have a crystal ball, but getting the number one pick would be huge. All types of doors suddenly open up for the C's.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
No reason to be a pessimist on a forum for Celtics fans.

Win on Monday / 1st pick.
