I just wish AB was up on him tighter.
Just too much room when AB has the ability to stay with him.
You have to play defense. Avery gets up on Wall and he blows by him with ease. Obviously we'd take that NOW, but I'll take a 30 ft 3-pointer from Wall all day long. He just happened to make it.
I agree. I'd much rather give Wall a long 3 with a hand in his face than let him drive to the basket and either A) get fouled or B) get a much easier shot. Awful loss for us considering we were up 5 with the ball with 1:25 left, but that particular sequence (Wall's game-winner) didn't bother me from a strategic standpoint.
Yeah hand in his face would've been nice.
I feel like we should have trapped him and left Otto or whoever it was with the open shot. I bet he wouldnt have even passed it and would have chucked up a bad shot. Oh well shoulda couldas are easy after the fact.
I don't think he would've passed it either, but even then that would've opened up so many more ways it could've gone wrong, not least of which is a rushed shot by a role player.
As soon as AB dropped behind the line, I just had a knot in my throat....and it was over.
And I know the standard strategy of going for the tie or win, and yeah we were up a game, but without the ball, I'd just as well go another 5 minutes and not take the chance. I wasn't buying the beers tonight anyway. Totally wrong strategy.
